The 107th edition of the National Hockey League will soon be underway, and the excitement is as thick as maple syrup here in Canada. On 10th October, we will once again see 32 teams fight for the ultimate title. A lengthy 6-month campaign has a lot to unravel.

The previous season saw the Vegas Golden Knights defeating the Florida Panthers 4:1 in the finals. This was the first matchup since 2018 where neither of the teams had won the Stanley Cup.

Are you looking forward to favourites? Who are the leading contenders for claiming the Stanley Cup? Make sure to check the latest odds from Tonybet.

New Jersey Devils – 10.9

The New Jersey Devils are looking strong this season. Adding Luke Hughes and Timo Meier will bolster the Devils’ roster. While goaltending was a significant problem last season, there’s time to wipe the slate clean. All in all, you cannot win a title in the modern NHL without proper defence and a goalie, can you?

With the right combination of talent, coaching, team chemistry, and health, they could mount a serious challenge. The Devils certainly have the potential to compete at the highest level.

Edmonton Oilers – 10.7

Every season, there’s buzz that it’s going to be the Oilers’ year. One of the best franchises in the league still needs to live up to expectations. They have struggled in the playoffs and never achieved any success.

This season is looking different, though. The goaltender, Stuart Skinner, will have more experience under his belt. However, if they don’t pay more attention to the defence, everything will be in vain.

Another question goes to Connor McDavid. We are all sure of his abilities, and no question that he is the best player in the world right now. Alongside Leon Draisaitl, they have formed a terrific duo. This is going to be a career-changing season for McDavid, who is 26 and still has not won the Stanley Cup.

Detroit Red Wings Vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction, Odds 06/03/24

NHL. Predictions, Picks, And Odds. Weekly Preview 15/02/2024

Colorado Avalanche – 10.2

The Avalanche know what victory tastes like, bagging a win in 2022 against the Tampa Bay Lightning 4:2. It was the first title for Colorado’s leader Nathan MacKinnon. Anyway, they failed short the previous season, losing to the Seattle Kraken in the first round.

This season started unfortunately for the Avalanche, as the captain, Gabriel Landeskog, will miss the entire season due to an injury. Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar, alongside MacKinnon, can fight for higher goals. Sure, it will be more challenging to compete in the West, but Avalanche have got the talent to aim high.

Carolina Hurricanes – 10.15

The Hurricanes are a team to watch out for. Alas, they might encounter a lot of trouble in the Eastern Conference this year because both the Devils and the Maple Leafs are loaded.

However, they did well in adding new players. The signing of Dmitry Orlov will surely strengthen the defensive capabilities of the Hurricanes. They have also brought Tony DeAngelo, a perfect offensive candidate.

Andrei Svechnikov, the soul and heart of the team, has also returned from the injury. His form is pivotal – he can create a lot of dangers for the opponents.

Toronto Maple Leafs – 10.5

And here we are, with the Toronto Maple Leafs as the main favourites to win the Stanley Cup.

While some might argue that the Canadian team’s been on an upward trajectory, they have gradually improved. While 13 Stanley Cups might seem attractive, they have not won it since 1966-1967.

2023 was a significant year for Toronto, making it to the second round. It was partially due to a decline of the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning.

A lot will depend on Auston Matthews. He is possibly the best goalscorer in the world right now, alongside Connor McDavid and Alex Ovechkin. Toronto GM Brad Treiliving must do his best to keep the American center on the roster.

We think that with proper players and strategy, this year could be the title-winning for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Our Expectations

The season is long, and injuries might just throw a snowball into the plans. Don’t forget that there is a chance to sign new players during the season. But as it stands, the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking like the team to beat.
