The search for Canada’s brightest talent is really heating up. With the finalists all set, all that’s left is to find who walks away with the record-breaking grand prize of one million dollars!

Canada’s Got Talent 2024 has brought together one of the most diverse groups of talent we have seen in a while, with the performers vying for national recognition.

Who will win? Who will be the fan-favourite at the end of everything? Who will get oh so close with no cigar? So many questions are still left to be answered on May 14, 2024. Come with us as we walk you through everything you need to know before watching the Canada’s Got Talent 2024 finals!

Let’s be honest: half the reason we all watch Canada’s Got Talent is for the audition rounds, where great, funny, and awful acts all come to showcase their talents in front of a live audience and the discerning eyes of the judges.

This year’s judging panel comprised the iconic Howie Mandel, the multi-talented Lilly Singh, WWE legend Trish Stratus, and Canadian music royalty Kardinal Offishall. Each judge had the power to shut down an act with a buzz, while as always, the Golden Buzzer sent a lucky contestant directly to the semi-finals.

As for the auditions themselves, there was a ton of variety and interesting talents all around.

From the gravity-defying roller skating duo, MAT & MYM, who received Kardi’s Golden Buzzer, to the absolutely crazy art performance by TOGETHER FOR PEACE, which earned Lindsay Ell’s Golden Buzzer, there was never a dull moment.

Singers like Eshan Sobti and Rebecca Strong also managed to captivate the audience almost like sirens with their powerful vocals.

That is all to say, each act brought a unique flavour to the competition, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

As the pressure mounted for the performers, the competition quickly transitioned to the semi-finals, however, even with formats changing, the judges still had the ability to eliminate acts with four Xs.

For the lucky acts who managed to make it passed the judge’s looming buzzers, they still had to face the ultimate test – the public vote. For the public vote, viewers across Canada got to cast their votes through their phones, online platforms, and social media, taking the competition into their own hands.

For reference, voters could potentially submit a total of 50 votes, ten from each platform.

The final episode is definitely going to be a huge deal with the eight finalists who had battled their way through the earlier rounds.
