Burnley vs Arsenal. Shape of the Teams
Mildly put, Burnley has been a disappointment. Many, including myself, believe that Kompany was doing great work in the Championship, but unfortunately, the previous success hasn’t lived up to the expectations at a higher level.
Burnley’s defensive leaks have been too frequent to stay out of the relegation zone. It is a recurrent pattern of promoted sides facing difficulties adjusting to the Premier League’s demands. And unfortunately for Burnley, in this situation, they are set to host Arsenal.
Burnley’s last victory dates back to December 2023, a 0-2 win against Fulham. Arsenal, meanwhile, smashed West Ham 6-0, which saw fans leaving the stadium by half-time. They kept scoring as the game went on, a testament to Arsenal’s quality and the depth of their squad.
However, it is unlikely to see a spanking as the one against West Ham again – Arsenal will likely be conserving energy for the mid-week European tie against Porto – but in both games, Arsenal’s cannon is expected to blow away the opposition.

Despite Burnley hosting the game, the odds heavily favour Arsenal, and it is unlikely to see a major upset. Arsenal is caught up in the middle of the title race, neck and neck with Manchester City and just a stone’s throw away from league leaders Liverpool.

Consistent issues in defence and an underwhelming attack highlight a team struggling to find its footing in the Premier League. It is obvious that Burnley is not in a position of power against Arsenal, a team that is sitting third in the Premier League and recognized as one of the top teams in Europe.
Additionally, after the 6-0 hammering at West Ham, the confidence that Arsenal has will cause significant problems for Burnley. Given their defensive vulnerabilities, there are few ways to see how Burnley could stop Arsenal besides hoping for the best.
Burnley vs Arsenal Betting Tip
- Pick: Arsenal to lead by a two-goal margin
- Odds: +300 (Tonybet)
As mentioned, the match against Burnley might not be Arsenal’s headline event this week, so I haven’t tipped for the 3+ goal margin. Another hammering, especially back-to-back away from home, is highly unlikely. But let’s be honest – Burnley’s performances have been pretty terrible.

Arsenal is likely to control the game and score goals, but the specifics of their lineup remain a bit of a mystery. Potential rotations could give some regular starters a rest, and which players will sit in this one out will only be known once the lineup has been announced.

That said, this should be a fun session for Arsenal and an opportunity to secure valuable points against a team languishing near the bottom of the standings.
