The Sabres are coming off a dominant win in Game 4 of this first-round matchup against the Bruins. They secured a 6-1 victory at TD Garden that has Boston on the brink of being eliminated.

The fact that Sabres are leading 3-1 in the series despite not scoring a single power-play goal in the first four games against Boston goes to show how dominant Buffalo has been throughout the series.

The excellent play on special teams hasn’t tipped the scales in Boston’s favor, as the Bruins have their backs against the wall on Tuesday and look quite likely to be eliminated.

The Sabres have had contributions from up and down the lineup throughout the series, but one player who stood out is Alex Tuch.

The veteran winger leads Buffalo in points so far in the current postseason run with six (three goals, three assists), and he should be one of the team’s go-to scoring weapons due to his role in the lineup.

Tuch skates in the first line alongside Tage Thompson and has a clear top-six role in the lineup, so it’s not surprising to see him being this productive.

Aside from that production, Tuch also ranks second in plus/minus rating (+6) and shots on goal (15). Look for Tuch to be heavily involved on offense once again, as he’s currently riding a six-game point streak dating back to the end of the regular season.

Three of the first four games of the series have been high-scoring affairs with at least six goals, and that trend shouldn’t change here.

The Bruins need to win here, so they’re likely to play with a more aggressive approach, which could translate into more space for the Sabres on offense.

David Pastrnak is also a candidate to crack the scoresheet for Boston, because if the Bruins are looking to turn things around, they’ll need their star winger to be at his best. Pastrnak currently leads the Bruins in points in the series with five (one goal, four assists).

Tyson Kozak, Josh Norris and Jason Zucker are all dealing with undisclosed injuries but carrying probable tags, so they might be available Tuesday. That doesn’t mean the Sabres are at full strength, though.

Sam Carrick is out with an arm injury, while Justin Danforth (kneecap) and Jiri Kulich (ear) have already been ruled out for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Bruins could be without one of their best players for Tuesday’s game since Viktor Arvidsson, who left the Game 4 loss on Sunday with an upper-body injury, didn’t practice Monday.

The winger, who has two goals, 11 shots on goal, and three blocked shots in the playoffs, is questionable to play on Tuesday. Nikita Zadorov (undisclosed) is questionable and will be a game-time call.
