Lamine Yamal, aged only 16, is making headlines for all the right reasons. The Spanish winger has shown his class and bags of potential at Barcelona as he has won a starting berth in Xavi Hernandez’s starting 11 in La Liga.

The faith shown by the La Liga champions in young Yamal speaks statements, given the caliber of superstars the manager has at his disposal.

Unsurprisingly, Lamine Yamal has already won two caps for the Spanish national team and even grabbed a goal.

The bone of contention regarding Lamine Yamal is how to handle his burgeoning star. Xavi Hernandez and the Catalan club want to protect the young La Masia product from attention.

But it seems Spanish national team manager Luis de la Fuente did not get the memo, as he compared Lamine Yamal to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi, much to the chagrin of those in charge at Barcelona.

One thing is for sure: this will not be the last we hear of Lamine Yamal as he promises to develop into a bonafide world star.
