Sacramento Kings vs Miami Heat. Shape of the Teams

The Sacramento Kings face off against a weakened Miami Heat roster on Monday at the Golden 1 Center. Unfortunately for Miami Heat fans, it looks like Tyler Herro will at least be out for the game, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Sacramento will come away with the dub.

Even with injuries, Miami is fresh off a three-game win streak, having really picked it up after their disappointing month of January. The team has overall been playing better together while maintaining their smothering defence. With Bam Adebayo clogging up the paint and a perimeter guard like Jimmy Butler, Miami’s defence isn’t to be trifled with.

That being said, the home team Sacramento Kings have also kicked their play up a notch, winning their last three. Even beating the Los Angeles Clippers 107-123 on Sunday.

De’Aaron Fox has continued to play fantastic night after night, with Domantas Sabonis crashing the boards and scoring, while Malik Monk provides a solid secondary option.

The real question is going to be if Sabonis will be able to get to his spots and rebound effectively with the long Bam Adebayo crashing the boards alongside him. While that’s going on, Butler will likely mark Fox, attempting to at least slow down the explosive guard.

However, as we mentioned, Miami is missing Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler, which could leave them struggling, at least on the offensive side of the ball. Without Herro’s 21 points per night and Terry Rozier’s 12.6 points, Miami’s scoring will definitely be hindered, to say the least.

Even with injuries, Miami will put up a pretty good fight; however, we have to agree with the bookmakers here and give the edge to the Sacramento Kings. If Miami were healthy coming into this game, things would be different, but as they are now, they are lacking the scoring they need.

Sacramento Kings vs Miami Heat Odds, Prediction

On Sacramento’s side of things, they should be able to score even with Miami’s stellar defence. Malik Monk, Keegan Murray, and Harrison Barnes will all be scoring with really no answer. The two small forwards and shooting guard can really open up the court and cause issues for even the best defensive teams in the league.

Miami will really have to pick their poison on defence, as they really don’t have the ability to lock down more than a few players while struggling with injuries.

Nonetheless, keeping the game relatively close still shouldn’t be too hard for Miami down the stretch. The Heat may not be firing on all cylinders as of now, but keeping the game within 4.5 points isn’t too tall of an ask.

Even without all of their star players, Erik Spoelstra and the Heat won’t go down without a fight.

Sacramento Kings vs Miami Heat Player Pick and Betting Tip

Bam Adebayo may not be the most offensively gifted player in the NBA, but he still has the ability to reliably score 20 points on a nightly basis. With his incredible athleticism and super long arms, he should be able to dominate the boards over Domantas Sabonis and pick up a number of easy buckets.

Adebayo has also recently picked up his scoring numbers, dropping 24 against the New Orleans Pelicans and 23 against the Philadelphia 76ers. He has also been incredibly efficient in these games, shooting at 61.1% and 64.% true shooting.

It seems as though Adebayo struggles on the offensive side of the ball against other dominant big men, but against more finesse players like Dabonis, he should be able to use his big frame. But even on the off chance the Kings do try to slow down Adebayo with a larger and longer player like JaVale McGee, we have no doubt his footwork can put McGee in the blender.

Adebayo will likely also have quite the fire under him, as the Heat are nowhere near a top seed in the East as of now, meaning every game counts. If they do manage to pull this out against the Kings, it would go a long way towards securing a better playoff position.

If Adebayo doesn’t have a great game, it’s not a good sign for what’s to come in the playoffs. However, he has shown time and time again that he can rise to the occasion.
