We’ve got an exciting slate of Premier League games this weekend with all 20 teams playing between Saturday and Monday. There are some great games on the schedule including a must-see match between Liverpool and Manchester City. Here are my best bets for Matchweek 28!
Manchester United vs. Everton (Saturday, March 9)
Man Utd got beaten badly by Man City in the derby last weekend, but there’s a huge gulf of class between Pep Guardiola’s team and Everton. This Everton side haven’t won in their previous 10 league games and face a Man Utd team who have a good record over them, winning their last four meetings.
This is far from a vintage Man Utd side, but they have more than enough to take apart an Everton team who are in freefall at the moment, especially in front of a loud home crowd at Old Trafford.
Pick: Man Utd (-115)
Arsenal vs. Brentford (Saturday, March 9)
The visitors have just one point from their last four games and now face a tough trip to the Emirates to play Arsenal. Make no mistake about, it’s the Gunners who are the Premier League’s form team and they come into this match following a 6-0 demolition of Sheffield United.
Arsenal have won every Premier League game of 2024 and have scored a massive 31 goals in those seven games, including two different games in which they’ve scored six. With Brentford struggling for form and missing their best defender in Ben Mee, we’re set to see Arsenal score big once again.
Pick: Arsenal Over 2.5 goals (-118)
Aston Villa vs. Tottenham (Sunday, March 10)
Both Aston Villa and Spurs should be pleased with their seasons so far, with the teams fourth and fifth in the Premier League respectively. It’s Villa who are in the lead, by five points, and they have won three on the bounce and are playing some incredible soccer under Unai Emery.
While Villa will certainly win, there’s also set to be plenty of goals, with both teams frequently involved in high scoring games at the moment. We’ve seen Over 2.5 scored in Aston Villa’s six previous league games as well as Over 2.5 goals landing in each of Spurs’ past nine games in the Premier League.

Liverpool vs. Manchester City (Sunday, March 10)
Sunday’s Liverpool vs. Man City is a real top of the table bout that that will have real ramifications on the destination of the Premier League trophy this season. This is a must-see game with Liverpool top of the league by just one point, and Man City hoping to leapfrog them with a win here.
Despite a number of injuries in the Liverpool squad they’ve won their last four Premier League games in a row and the Carabao Cup. They’re starting to get key players back and will fancy their chances at home against Man City. With the way that we’ve seen Liverpool play lately they have to be the bet, even against a great Man City team.
Pick: Liverpool (+190)
Chelsea vs. Newcastle (Monday, March 11)
Monday’s only Premier League game sees Chelsea host Newcastle. Mauricio Pochettino’s team is hard to judge currently, capable of some impressive performances but also some horror shows too. They’ve seen both teams to score land in 65.4% of their games this season and they’ve scored in all but three Premier League games at Stamford Bridge, with the last blank being at the end of October.
Newcastle have had BTTS land in 61.5% of their games away from St James’ Park and they’ve found the back of the net in every single Premier League game in 2024 so far. Picking a winner for this game is a very hard ask, but we can be bullish on both teams scoring.
