The Golden Knights and the Ducks have been going back and forth in this Western Conference Semifinals.

After they split the first four meetings, with each team winning once at home and once on the road, the matchup has effectively become a three-game series, with two of the remaining encounters being played at T-Mobile Arena.

The last time these two sides met here, the Ducks pulled off a 3-1 upset win.

Anaheim are coming off a 4-3 victory in Game 4 at Honda Center, but the Golden Knights will have the chance to get back to winning ways at home, where they posted a W20, L12, OT9 record during the regular season.

The Ducks already stole one game from Vegas, but their road record hasn’t been particularly impressive. Between the regular season and playoffs, they are W21, L23, OT2 away from home.

Given the defensive struggles both teams have experienced, goaltending will play a big role once again.

If the Golden Knights are going to bounce back here and secure a 3-2 lead in the series, Mitch Marner will need to continue playing at a very high level.

The veteran forward has been one of the driving forces behind Vegas’ offence, leading the team in points (16) despite not topping in either goals (Brett Howden has seven) or assists (Jack Eichel has 12).

Marner recorded three assists in Game 4 and has produced at least two points in three of the four outings in the West Semifinals so far, with the lone exception being his pointless performance in the second clash.

He has recorded points in eight of his 10 playoff appearances, making him a strong candidate to deliver again.

We’re pairing that high-scoring outlook with two productive playmakers leaving a mark on the box score. Jack Eichel should find a way to contribute for the Golden Knights, given that he’s tallied 13 points in the playoffs.

On the other side, Leo Carlsson has been just as influential for the Ducks. He is tied for the team lead in points with 10 and has also racked up an impressive 39 shots on goal in the playoffs. Both players should find a way to get involved here.

The Golden Knights are waiting on Mark Stone, who’s reportedly a game-time call due to a lower-body injury. His return would provide a huge boost to the lineup given his postseason experience. Jeremy Lauzon (upper body) and Alex Pietrangelo (hip) remain out and won’t be available for the rest of the series.
