Philadelphia 76ers vs Los Angeles Clippers. Prediction, Odds

The Philadelphia 76ers host the Los Angeles Clippers at home in what should be yet another rough game for Philly. Joel Embiid continues to sit out with a severe knee injury, but the real kick in the pants for 76ers fans is the injuries to Robert Covington, Buddy Hield, and even Kelly Oubre Jr.

Without at least a couple of supporting pieces, Tyrese Maxey is going to have a tough time picking up the slack. Even if Maxey manages to have a fantastic gaming dropping 40, a dub just isn’t very likely in their future.

The Clippers on the other hand have been playing, well… crap, but at least they haven’t been bitten by the injury bug – at least as of now. The big three of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden are slated to play in Wednesday’s game, and even with some less-than-stellar recent performances, they are still the heavy favourites.

With three solid stars putting up some decent numbers, it’ll be hard for Maxey and Tobias Harris to really put up a fight.

That being said, the Clippers did take a pretty nasty L to the 76ers on the 24th, meaning it’s not a total lost cause for the underdogs. If some of the roleplayers like De’Anthony Melton and Cameron Payne really step it up, they could give the 76ers a real run for their money.

Maxey should be able to keep Harden in check, at least somewhat, but the real question will be whether or not Kawhi and George show up in a meaningful way. If either star does show up in any meaningful way, Harris and the rest of the roster will be completely out of their depth.

That is all to say, we have to agree with the bookmakers on this one and go with the favourite Clippers, but based on their last head-to-head, you can’t completely count out the 76ers.

Toronto Raptors vs New York Knicks. Prediction and Betting Tips

The floundering Toronto Raptors face off against the New York Knicks in what should be a one-sided stomp for New York as Toronto continues to struggle with a myriad of injuries. And it’s not just roleplayers who are on the injured list, the Raptors are currently sitting RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes, Chris Boucher, Immanuel Quickley, Jakob Poeltl, Jontay Porter, and D.J. Carton.

With seven key players missing from the rotation, you can’t really expect any team to be taking home any meaningful wins – and the Raps have lived up to that, losing 11 straight.

Luckily for Knicks fans, they haven’t been hit with too many injuries, like Toronto, where they have only lost Julius Randle and OG Anunoby. Don’t get us wrong, losing two key players like that is a blow, but it’s nowhere near as severe as Toronto’s situation.

Wednesday’s game is likely going to be the Jalen Brunson show, with the point guard stuffing the stat sheet, as nobody on the Raps can guard him as of now. His three-point shooting continues to be absolutely lethal while shooting at a decent volume.

On the Raptor’s side of things, they really only have Gary Trent Jr. to rely on, who is up and down, to say the least. He dropped 31 points against the Washington Wizards but has only been averaging a little over 13 points on the season.

The only issue is that the Knicks will be keying in on Trent Jr., which will definitely lower his already mediocre scoring output.

Unfortunately for Toronto Raptors fans, it’s very hard to see any situation where the Raps pull this one out. It’s a lose-lose, no matter which way you cut it. The Raptors don’t have the defence, offence, or pace to keep up with the Knicks in their current form.

It’s the NBA at the end of the day, any team can win on any given day, but the Raptors’ chances are slim, to say the least.

Denver Nuggets vs Phoenix Suns Prediction and Betting Tip

The Denver Nuggets, fresh off a convincing win against the Memphis Grizzlies, host the Phoenix Suns in what should be a pretty good game overall. Neither team has really been struggling with any serious injuries outside of Jamal Murray’s light sprains and Bradley Beals’ ring finger injury.

With both rosters healthy and ready to go, this will likely be a high-scoring game with some great offence in both the half-court and in transition.

While Jamal Murray won’t be firing on all cylinders, he and Nikola Jokić should be able to rip the Suns apart on the inside, as they have no answer for Jokić’s size. Whether it’s a quick handoff, backing down to the basket, or Jokić playing from the top of the key, Phoenix’s defence will have no answer.

Adding insult to injury for the Phoenix Suns, Jusuf Nurkić is still out with a right ankle sprain, meaning there is nobody outside of Kevin Durant inside to deal with the big Serb.

On Phoenix’s side of things, they continue to have one of the more potent offences in the NBA, especially with Devin Booker and KD playing healthy. If they can manage to stop the hemorrhaging on defence and their shots fall, they have a good chance of taking down the Nuggets.

Nonetheless, we are leaning in the direction of the Denver Nuggets going into this game. With the dynamic duo of Jokić and Murray battering the paint, there will be little room for the Suns to fight back, potentially losing down the stretch as their defence catches up with them.
