We have an absolutely stacked weekend of Premier League soccer ahead, with all 20 teams playing across Saturday and Sunday. That includes a key fixture between Man City and Arsenal that looks like a potential title decider. Let’s dive in with my best bets for Matchweek 30!
Sheffield United vs. Fulham (Saturday, March 30)
Odds of -136 might not leap off the page but you need to consider backing Fulham to beat Sheffield United. The Blades are the worst team in the Premier League and sat at the bottom of the league table with a -150 goal difference. They’ve picked up just one point from their previous four games and look certain to get relegated.
Meanwhile, in West London, we’ve seen a rejuvenated Fulham move up the Premier League table, where they now sit 12th. They’ve won three of their past four games, beating Brighton, Spurs, and Man Utd, and should win with ease here.
Pick: Fulham (-136)
Aston Villa vs. Wolves (Saturday, March 30)
You can never predict exactly how local derbies will go, but Aston Villa look like a great bet to be leading at halftime against Wolves. Aston Villa are fourth in the Premier League, but if you only counted the first halves of games they’d be second.
Villa have been leading at halftime in eight of their 14 Premier League games and losing in just two, a record that puts them ahead of everyone but Man City. Wolves have been poor in the first half of away games this season, winning just three times.
Pick: Aston Villa to win at halftime (+117)
Brentford vs. Manchester United (Saturday, March 30)
Neither team comes into this in great form. Brentford last won a game a full seven matches ago, while Man Utd have won just one of their past three Premier League games. However, one man who has been on form is Ivan Toney.
Toney made his third England appearance this week and his first start and he rewarded Gareth Southgate with a goal against Belgium. Since returning from his ban, he’s scored four times in 10 Premier League games and will fancy his chances against a poor Man Utd backline.
Pick: Ivan Toney to score (+160)
Liverpool vs. Brighton (Sunday, March 31)
This is far from the Brighton side that we saw last year, but they’d still be happy being eighth in the Premier League table. Meanwhile, Liverpool are second and firmly in the title race. Liverpool have won four of their past five, while Brighton have won just two.
Liverpool have been eclectic this season, and with 65 goals are the second highest scorers in the Premier League. In their past four games across all competitions, they’ve scored 15 goals and I expect their attack, which is now healthy, to be able to put Brighton to the sword by a couple of goals at Anfield.
Pick: Liverpool -1.5 (-103)
Manchester City vs. Arsenal (Sunday, March 31)
Is it too early to call this a Premier League title decider? A loss for Man City would certainly makes things difficult for them, leaving them four points behind Arsenal, who would maintain top spot. Thankfully for City fans, they’re unlikely to lose.
Some of Man City’s key players such as Kyle Walker, Ederson, and John Stones are all questionable to play, but they should win so long as they still have Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian is the real difference maker between these two teams and will be able to cause issues for an Arsenal defense, especially with his telepathic relationship with Erling Haaland. It’s not often you can get -110 on a home win for Man City, so take it while you can. They are one of just two teams who haven’t lost at home this season, and that streak should continue on Sunday.
Pick: Man City (-110)
