Atalanta vs Milan Preview and Team News
Atalanta Team News
Atalanta suffered another disappointing result last weekend, settling for a 1-1 draw away at Cremonese despite dominating the encounter. La Dea held an edge in xG (1.15 to 1.12), total shots (20 to 9), and possession (65% to 35%). However, just as in their meeting with Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League, they failed to translate that supremacy into the final result and couldn’t secure all three points.
The run of draws is worrying for Atalanta, to say the least, as the stalemate against Cremonese was their fourth in a row across all competitions. Even though that result also extended their undefeated run to seven matches (W2, D5), their inability to win games they dominate is becoming a troublesome trend for Ivan Juric’s men. His tactical approach doesn’t invite a very attacking-minded brand of soccer, either.

With three straight draws and no losses so far at home in competitive action (W2, D4), it’s easy to see Atalanta finding a way to compete in the upcoming clash. Still, they’ve also recorded back-to-back scoreless draws at the Gewiss Stadium and have scored more than two goals in just two of those six outings. Given that Milan pose a tougher challenge than their previous opponents, Atalanta are unlikely to cruise their way to an easy win.
Atalanta predicted lineup vs Milan (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Djimsiti, Hien, de Roon; Zappacosta, Ederson, Pasalic, Bernasconi; De Ketelaere, Lookman; Krstovic.
Milan Team News
Last weekend, Milan suffered perhaps their most disappointing result of the 2025-26 Serie A season in a 2-2 draw against Pisa at home. Just like it happened against Cremonese in the season opener, the Rossoneri struggled to get things going against a defensive-minded opponent and needed a stoppage-time goal from Zachary Athekame to rescue a point at San Siro.
This means Max Allegri’s men will probably be out looking for vengeance on this trip to the Gewiss Stadium, but this isn’t a venue that has been kind to them in recent years.

Milan have gone winless in their previous three visits (D1, L2), and it’s hard to see them having the attacking edge to overpower a stout Atalanta defence
Given their recent struggles in attack and the absence of their star player, Christian Pulisic, this won’t be an easy game for the Rossoneri. They won’t sit back and play defensively in this match, but they’ll likely operate with a cautious approach. After disappointing draws against Pisa and Juventus, they simply can’t afford another poor result here.
Milan predicted lineup vs Atalanta (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Ricci, Bartesaghi; Giménez, Rafael Leão.

Atalanta vs Milan Prediction, Odds
- Pick: Draw
- Odds: +240 (Tonybet)
- Correct score prediction: Atalanta 1-1 Milan
Let’s start by saying that neither Atalanta nor Milan enter this fixture on their best run of form. Even though the hosts have gone seven straight matches undefeated (W2, D5) and the visitors have stretched their streak to eight (W6, D2), the recent results suggest both clubs could be in better positions. This is particularly true after their disappointing draws last weekend against Cremonese and Pisa, respectively.
Atalanta have struggled to convert dominance into victories, especially at home, while Milan have been able to control games with ease but have shown growing vulnerability at the back.

This is shaping up to be a meeting where both teams have enough quality to get a win, yet each struggle to establish long dominance spells
Given Atalanta’s tendency to participate in low-scoring affairs and Milan’s recent inability to keep clean sheets, we could be in for an entertaining contest. However, neither side look set to dominate the clash, and both cancel each other nicely tactically as well. This battle between two evenly matched squads could very well end in a draw.
Atalanta vs Milan Betting Tip
- Pick: Under 2.5 total goals
- Odds: -102 (Tonybet)
If there’s one thing that has stood out whenever Atalanta play at the Gewiss Stadium, it’s the lack of goals. Firstly, four of their six matches at this venue have produced under 2.5 total goals.
As if that wasn’t enough, their back-to-back scoreless draws against Slavia Prague and Lazio mean they’ve gone 264 minutes without finding the back of the net in front of their fans.

The Rossoneri have seen four of their last five encounters end with more than 2.5 total goals, but in the one game they played against a sound defensive team – Juventus – things ended in a scoreless draw.
Plus, two of their previous three head-to-head meetings have also featured under 2.5 total goals. Neither Milan nor Atalanta are at their best in attack right now, further enhancing the idea of this being a low-scoring affair.
