Winnipeg Jets vs Montreal Canadiens Moneyline Prediction

The Canadiens failed to extend their winning streak to four games with an overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild on Monday, but at least kept their point streak alive for another day.

Despite the defeat against one of the Western Conference’s top teams, there were plenty of positives to take away. Most notably, Montreal held the lead until the third period and only lost in overtime after a power-play goal from star winger Kirill Kaprizov.

Meanwhile, the Jets fought hard but suffered an overtime loss to another Western Conference powerhouse, the Stars, on Monday. Winnipeg might hold a W4, L3, OT3 record over their last 10 outings, but the lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis continues to be an issue.

They’ve failed to record back-to-back wins in that stretch but have already posted two separate streaks with consecutive losses.

The Canadiens will rely on their prolific offence to secure a road win here, as they rank fourth in the league in goals scored per game (3.43) and seventh in power-play efficiency (23.6 percent).

The Jets sit 15th in goals allowed (3.05) despite having Connor Hellebuyck between the pipes, and they simply don’t have enough quality on either end of the ice to contend with the Canadiens right now. Expect Montreal to walk away with the victory.

Few players have been as hot as Nick Suzuki in recent weeks. The star playmaker recorded an assist in the overtime loss to the Wild on Monday and has tallied eight points (two goals, six helpers) over Montreal’s last five games.

If the Canadiens are going to get the win here, Suzuki will need to be at his best – or at the very least, he should remain as productive as he’s been over the past two weeks.

Winnipeg Jets vs Montreal Canadiens Same Game Parlay

Our three-leg parlay points toward a relatively high-scoring affair. The Canadiens and Jets last met on December 3, when regulation produced only four goals. Look for that to change here, as Montreal are hot on offence while Winnipeg continue to slump defensively.

Given that both teams are averaging over 3.0 goals allowed per game in 2025-26, there’s a solid floor for this line.

We’re pairing the high-scoring nature of this meeting with two of the most prolific players on the ice finding the back of the net at some point.

Cole Caufield has been outstanding for the Canadiens of late and has six goals over his last five appearances, even though he was held off the scoresheet against Minnesota. As for Mark Scheifele, he delivered an assist in the loss to Dallas and has notched six total points over his last five outings.

Winnipeg Jets vs Montreal Canadiens Team News

Winnipeg Jets Team News

The Jets will make a late call to see whether Neal Pionk will be available for this clash. The 30-year-old blueliner, who has missed 11 of the team’s last 13 games due to a lower-body injury, remains on the injured list, and a decision on his status will be made closer to the opening faceoff.

Two other defencemen remain sidelined for the time being, as Colin Miller (knee) and Haydn Fleury (upper body) are also dealing with ailments.

Neither is expected to be available before the Olympic break, though there’s a chance both could be ready to play in late February if they don’t suffer any setbacks with their respective recoveries.

Montreal Canadiens Team News

The Canadiens will have to make a late call of their own since playmaker Alexandre Texier is dealing with a lower-body injury and is on the fence about whether he’ll be available on Wednesday or not.

Texier is not on the IR, so he might have a shot at returning to action after a brief two-game absence.

The other two absences are long-term. Not only are both Patrik Laine (abdomen) and Alex Newhook (ankle) out until after the Olympic break, but Newhook is not expected to return until mid-March at the earliest. Meanwhile, Laine hasn’t played since October 16 and underwent core muscle surgery later that month.
