Verona continue to struggle and have yet to secure a victory in the 2025-26 Serie A season. They suffered another disappointing result, a 1-3 road loss to Como last time out, and that means the club have yet to win a competitive match in the current campaign. 

The lone fixture in which Verona came out on top was their Coppa Italia debut against Audace Cerignola on August 18, and that win came after a 1-1 draw in regulation.

Needless to say, the team shouldn’t be overly confident about their chances of getting a positive result here against one of the top title contenders in Serie A.

Verona have avoided defeat in three of their previous five contests at home, but considering they haven’t won a competitive game since February 23, when they recorded a 1-0 home win over Fiorentina, their prospects of a victory aren’t exactly promising.

Since the win over Fiorentina in February, Verona have gone D7, L4 in official encounters at their own stadium, including those decided in extra time and/or penalties. 

Their woes to protect their goal at home are likely to become an issue here as well. It seems Verona simply don’t have enough quality to threaten Inter, and that means the Milan giants shouldn’t have issues securing a comfortable win this time around.

It’s hard to believe Inter Milan have been struggling on both sides of the ball ahead of this promising matchup against Hellas Verona. 

On paper, the Nerazzurri have gone W3, L1 in their last four games, so they should be confident about their chances. They’re far from being a very dominant squad, but given the way Verona have struggled at home, Inter don’t need to be at their best to get a good result here.

That’s because the Nerazzurri have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three wins across all competitions. The lone setback in that span was a 3-1 loss to Napoli in the Serie A, but Verona aren’t on the same level as Napoli. 

The Veneto side have had tons of problems in attack, and Inter could very well take advantage of those woes to walk away with all three points.

The Milan team will have a golden opportunity to get a positive result in this match for a number of reasons. They’re not missing any key players outside of Marcus Thuram and should be confident about their chances of winning – even if they’re playing away from home. Their body of work this season should be enough to convince you that the Nerazzurri will secure all three points here.

On one hand, it wouldn’t be surprising if this game ended with a positive result for Verona. That’s not a way to praise what the hosts can do when being the odds-on favourite, but rather a clear knock on Inter’s ability to back up their dominance at the domestic level. 

However, even if the Nerazzurri can be prone to struggling from time to time, they should be able to secure a comfortable victory here.

All things considered, Inter might encounter some resistance from a Verona side that have yet to win in the current 2025-26 Serie A campaign. The Veneto outfit’s inability to find the back of the net regularly at home will likely hurt them, but if Inter do what they’re supposed to do, they should be able to get the win by a multiple-goal margin.

If this game were to be decided by seeing which player is capable of finding the back of the net first, there’s no question that Martínez would be an excellent choice to get the job done. 

The Argentina star is Inter’s captain and main goalscoring threat, and he should operate as the team’s primary weapon in the final third as well.

Martínez has five goal contributions in 2025-26 with three goals and two assists. Even though Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been an elite scoring threat with five goals, the smart money lies on backing Martínez to find the back of the net, as he’ll be Inter’s primary offensive weapon. The 28-year-old striker hasn’t scored in his last three league appearances, but he should be able to snap that drought here.
