This clash is a tricky one, as the Blues have the edge in the ML odds (+133 to +154). However, if we factor in the game’s outcome, including overtime, the Senators suddenly have better odds at -105 than St. Louis’ -122. 

Maybe that reflects Ottawa’s overall strength as a team, or perhaps it’s a response to the Blues’ struggles, losers of four of their last five encounters. Either way, the Canadian side should have enough quality to secure the victory in regulation.

The Sens had to fight the Golden Knights but came away with a 4-3 shootout win. However, that victory was far from easy, as the Senators raced to a 3-0 lead in the first period only to see Vegas mount a comeback. It wouldn’t have been an odd thing to see Ottawa lose, especially considering all the chances the Golden Knights had in the third period while posting a 35-23 edge in shots on goal.

As for the Blues, they’re coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils in their most recent outing. That resulted in St. Louis dropping four of their last five games overall (W1, L2, OT2), which is far from ideal ahead of facing a playoff-contending team like the Senators. 

The Blues have had significant woes on defence as well, as they’ve conceded 16 goals over their last four encounters at home while posting a W1, L1, OT2 mark in that span.

St. Louis have a slight edge in the head-to-head record, as they’ve won the last four head-to-head meetings against Ottawa at Enterprise Center. They also have fresher legs since this will be the Senators’ fifth straight outing on the road. 

However, the Canadian team are the better side, and they’ll take advantage of the Blues’ defensive struggles to snatch the win here and end their West Coast road trip on a high note.

Pinto is the definition of a streaky player, but there’s a chance he might be heating up again after going through a goal drought earlier this month. Pinto scored a goal in the 4-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday, giving him three goals over his last six regular-season contests. 

That ended a drought of eight straight games without a single goal between October 27 and November 11.

Pinto enjoyed an excellent start to the season, though. He scored twice in each of his first two appearances and recorded eight goals in his first nine outings. 

He’s proving to be a reliable scoring threat for the Senators despite holding a middle-six role in the lineup, and his presence in the second power-play unit should boost his chances to crack the scoresheet. He’s a risky option, but one that could pay excellent dividends given his recent stretch of play.

If you’re looking for a parlay, you could rely on different angles. Considering the Blues’ defensive woes and the Senators’ tired legs, all signs point to this being a high-scoring matchup. Going with a relatively low over figure, such as 4.5 goals, could be a strong start.

Building on that, taking over 1.5 goals in the first period might be another strong addition to your parlay. The Senators scored three goals in the first period against the Golden Knights on Wednesday, and two of their last three games during the current road trip have had at least two goals in the opening 20 minutes.

Last but not least, we’ll rely on the hot play of Tim Stutzle, who handed out two assists against the Golden Knights and has four points (G1, A3) over his last three appearances. He could take advantage of St. Louis’ struggling defensive play to find his way into the scoresheet once again. Stutzle has 10 points in 11 November outings.
