Indiana Pacers vs. New Orleans Pelicans. Prediction, Odds

The Indiana Pacers face off against the New Orleans Pelicans at home on Wednesday and will be looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Toronto Raptors. Tyrese Haliburton, in particular, should be motivated after his disappointing play, dropping just 9 points on 18.2% from the field.

The loss is also not likely an easy pill to swallow for Pascal Siakam, who will have a fire under him during the game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

New Orleans themselves have been incredibly up and down throughout the month of February, dropping games to lacking rosters while picking up several solid wins. It’s just unfortunate that neither Zion Williamson nor Brandon Ingram have really stepped up to really lead the team.

The two stars average a solid 20 points a night, but they really haven’t shown any ability to lead a winning team. On paper, they are a playoff contender, however, watching them play leaves much to be desired.

The Pacers, on the other hand, have continued to sit around in the middle of the pack in the tough Eastern conference with mixed results. They are by no means frontrunners at this point in the season, but they still feel stronger than the Pelicans.

Haliburton and Pascal Siakam should have a field day with New Orleans’ defence, and although the team played awfully against the Raptors, Bennedict Mathurin dropped 30 points, which is a good sign of what’s to come.

Myles Turner’s big body should also be able to at least slow down Zion Williamson on the inside, limiting his scoring at least slightly.

All in all, we are leaning in the direction of the Indiana Pacers. The long athleticism the Pacers bring to the game will likely be too much for the Pelicans.

Denver Nuggets vs Sacramento Kings . Prediction and Betting Tip

The Denver Nuggets take on the Sacramento Kings at home on Wednesday in what could be a rough matchup for the Kings.

Although De’Aaron Fox has continued to play phenomenally, the Kings just have absolutely no answer for the big man down low, Nikola Jokić. And adding insult to injury, Fox is listed as “questionable” for the game against the Nuggets.

The Kings are also coming off a rather disappointing loss to a heavily injured Miami Heat roster, which has put a damper on some expectations for the team.

The Denver Nuggets have had no such issues, though, soundly beating the Golden State Warriors last game to push their winning streak to three. Jokić and Jamals Murray have continued to be one of the NBA’s best one-two punches, easily beating most teams.

Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon have also been playing super well recently, scoring efficiently while playing some lockdown defence. If you try to abuse the inside, you’re met with the big Serb and MPJ, while Gordon and Murray play decent perimeter defence.

Unfortunately for Kings fans, they also simply do not match up well against the Nuggets, as without a solid defensive big man to slow down Jokić, they’re going to get torched. Damontas Sabonis is a strong player and rebounder by all accounts, but he can’t guard Jokić.

On the best of days, the Denver Nuggets would be a tough opponent for Sacramento, so fans better hope Fox plays.

That is all to say, we have to side with the favourite Denver Nuggets going into Wednesday’s game. With how both NBA teams have been playing throughout February and De’Aaron Fox’s unfortunate injury, it’ll be tough for the Kings to pull this one out.

Los Angeles Clippers vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction and Betting Tip

Wednesday night will have both LA teams facing off against one another while both rosters struggle with injuries. On one hand, the Los Angeles Clippers are missing Paul George, while the Los Angeles Lakers have seven injuries, including both Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

The only upside for Lakers fans is that Davis is listed as “probable” for the game against the Clippers.

While losing Paul George to a knee injury definitely stinks, the Clippers still have the personnel to win plenty of games – the Lakers do not.

James Harden and Kawhi Leonard will both be playing at full capacity against a seriously ailing Lakers roster. Like, realistically, who’s going to step up to the plate to guard Harden, let alone Kawhi?

D’Angelo Russell will definitely try and take a bunch of the load, but he simply isn’t Harden. Harden will continue to drop a ton of times and shoot incredibly efficiently, with or without Russell marking him.

The only saving grace the Lakers may have is, again,  Anthony Davis because the Clippers are seriously lacking in terms of inside defence and shot blockers. Ivica Zubac is a solid centre and plays the pick and roll incredibly well, but he isn’t a strong inside presence, at least compared to Davis.

Unless the stars align for the Los Angeles Lakers, they are facing an uphill battle. However, the Clippers have lost several games recently that they had no business losing. Nonetheless, we have to agree with the bookmakers and side with the favourite Los Angeles Clippers.

Without LeBron and many other roleplayers, it’s just hard to see the Lakers coming out with the dub.
