Celta Vigo vs FC Barcelona Preview and Team News

Celta Vigo Team News

It’s fair to say Celta Vigo are one of the hottest teams not only in La Liga, but across Europe’s top five leagues as well. They’re coming off perhaps one of their best results of the entire season – a 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, a result that extended their winning streak to five fixtures across all competitions. Os Celestes have also scored at least two goals in each of those five wins.

One of the biggest strengths for the Balaídos outfit has been their ability to find the back of the net, as they’ve scored at least once in each of their last 15 competitive matches. They’ve suffered only two losses over that stretch, with both coming in late September against Elche and Stuttgart away from home. They also haven’t lost in Balaídos since a 0-2 defeat to Getafe in the season opener back on August 17.

With a seven-game undefeated streak across all competitions at home, Celta look capable of snatching a positive result against a Barcelona side that’s missing several key players.

The only doubt is whether their starting goalkeeper, Andrei Radu, will be available. Other than that, they should be able to field something close to their best XI.

Celta Vigo predicted lineup vs FC Barcelona (3-4-2-1): Radu; Javi Rodríguez, Starfelt, Marcos Alonso; Carreira, Fran Beltrán, Moriba, Mingueza; Bryan Zaragoza, Jutglá; Borja Iglesias.

FC Barcelona Team News

FC Barcelona continue to navigate a very complicated stretch of the 2025-26 season due to a plethora of injuries and some form issues. Their most recent performance was far from their best, but the team showed enough grit and poise to escape with a 3-3 draw against Club Brugge on Belgian soil in the UEFA Champions League. Even though Barça had enough chances to win that game, they deserve props for escaping with a point after fielding a heavily rotated lineup.

The injury concerns aren’t going to stop anytime soon. Once again, Barcelona will be without several starters, such as Pedri, Gavi, Raphinha, and Joan García. Star forward Robert Lewandowski is back from injury and has already seen minutes, but it seems he’ll be on the bench once again here, with Ferrán Torres getting the nod up front. At least Lamine Yamal, who scored a goal in the draw against Brugge, is fit and available once again.

Even if they won’t be at full strength, Barcelona should have a decent chance to secure a positive result before the November international break. Their recent away form is a concern, however, as the Blaugrana have gone winless in their last three road fixtures and have lost their last two in LaLiga – against Real Madrid and Sevilla.

FC Barcelona predicted lineup vs Celta Vigo (4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Koundé, Araujo, Cubarsí, Baldé; Marc Casado, de Jong; Yamal, Dani Olmo, Rashford; Torres.

Celta Vigo vs FC Barcelona Main Match Info

Celta Vigo vs FC Barcelona Prediction, Odds

Barcelona have been struggling on enemy territory this season, and that’s not a secret. Aside from going winless in their last three away fixtures (D1, L2), they’ve also failed to keep opponents off the scoresheet in recent weeks. They’ve conceded at least one goal in each of their last seven away matches and at least two in four of those, including each of the last three.

Given that Celta Vigo have been a dominant scoring force that has found the back of the net in each of their last 15 competitive games across all competitions, the hosts should be good for at least one goal here. It wouldn’t be surprising if Os Celestes manage to cover the +1 spread. Based on their recent play and Barcelona’s continued struggles, Celta should find a way to escape with at least one point.

Celta Vigo vs FC Barcelona Betting Tip

Barcelona’s away fixtures this season have consistently produced goals, with at least two scored in every match, over 2.5 in seven of them, and four or more in five, including each of the last four (W1, D1, L2). Given Celta’s scoring prowess, coupled with Barça’s tired legs, lack of depth, and defensive issues, that trend is unlikely to end here.

Os Celestes’ recent outings have also been high-scoring, with four of their last five games featuring three or more total goals. The recent head-to-head history also supports this outcome, as each of their last five meetings has seen both teams score and at least three total goals.
