AC Milan vs Pisa Preview and Team News
AC Milan Team News
AC Milan were heavily criticized after losing the season-opening match against Cremonese 1-2 at home, but that defeat – as well as the Rossoneri’s underwhelming performance – now feels like a distant memory. Max Allegri’s men have gone unbeaten in six Serie A fixtures since then (W5, D1), and that outstanding run has allowed them to move to the top of the standings.
The San Siro outfit have built their recent success on an elite defensive unit that has conceded just two goals in their previous seven competitive games across all competitions: one against Napoli and another against Fiorentina.

Advanced stats also show Milan have been playing well. Even when including the loss to Cremonese, the Rossoneri have posted a higher xG than their opponents in all but one of their nine outings in 2025-26 (W7, D1, L1).
The only thing that could derail Milan’s path right now is the growing injury list. The team will have to find a way to deal with the absence of Christian Pulisic, who’s out with a thigh injury, while regulars Pervis Estupiñán (ankle), Adrien Rabiot (calf), and Reuben Loftus-Cheek (thigh) are also sidelined.
AC Milan predicted lineup vs Pisa (3-5-2): Maignan; Gabbia, Pavlovic, Tomori; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Ricci, Modric, Bartesaghi; Rafael Leao, Giménez.
Pisa Team News
Pisa are one of four winless clubs in the Serie A through the first seven rounds (D3, L4). Despite sharing the exact same record as Genoa and Fiorentina, they sit at the bottom of the standings due to their inferior goal differential (GD: -7).
The numbers don’t lie, and Pisa will travel to San Siro with the league’s second-worst attack and second-worst defence. That’s not exactly a recipe for success, especially for a newly promoted side that have struggled to consistently create chances against most teams in the league.
Pisa showed some promise in their 2-3 loss to Napoli back in September. Unfortunately, that glimpse of potential quickly evaporated, and they didn’t score another goal in their subsequent four matches across all competitions (D2, L2).
The Nerazzurri haven’t posted an xG higher than 0.80 in their last three Serie A fixtures, and it’s hard to see them creating havoc against Milan’s elite defensive unit. It wouldn’t be shocking if the squad end up looking completely overmatched in this trip to San Siro.
Another weekend rooted to the bottom of the standings and winless in the Serie A looks entirely probable unless Pisa deliver their best performance of the season.
Pisa predicted lineup vs AC Milan (3-5-2): Semper; Raúl Albiol, Caracciolo, Canestrelli; Touré, Mihai Marin, Aebischer, Akinsanmiro, Leris; Nzola, Moreo.

AC Milan vs Pisa Prediction, Odds
- Pick: AC Milan to win with -1.5 handicap
- Odds: -115 (Tonybet)
- Correct score prediction: AC Milan 2-0 Pisa
All signs point to AC Milan winning this game with absolute ease, and there are simply too many factors for it to finish any other way. The team have been playing at an extremely high level.
Considering they would’ve won that match against Cremonese nine times out of 10, this is a side that could very well remain undefeated deep into October. But their form isn’t the only reason why they’re favourites.

Milan also have a sizable advantage by playing at home against a squad that have struggled to score all season. After all, Pisa have found the back of the net just three times in seven league encounters. Ultimately, the talent gap between these two clubs is just too big to imagine the Nerazzurri getting anything out of this trip to San Siro.
The visitors will likely adopt a negative stance to complicate things for Milan, but the hosts have enough playmakers of sufficient quality to turn to when things get complicated, such as Rafael Leao and Luka Modric. The Rossoneri should cruise to an easy win by multiple goals.
AC Milan vs Pisa Betting Tip
- Pick: Both teams to score – no
- Odds: -143 (Tonybet)
Given Milan’s dominance this season and Pisa’s ongoing difficulties to find the back of the net, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Rossoneri end up winning this match while keeping a clean sheet. Maybe the worst-case scenario for them would be a scoreless draw where they can’t find a way to crack Pisa’s defensive setup, but that seems unlikely.
The Nerazzurri have now gone four games without scoring, and that streak could continue as they face one of the toughest defences in the Serie A on the road. Therefore, a scenario where only one – or neither – team find the net appears to be the most realistic outcome for this contest.
