Nashville Predators vs Montreal Canadiens Moneyline Prediction
- Moneyline Pick: Montreal Canadiens
- Odds: -176 (Tonybet)
The Canadiens have had an inconsistent start to the 2026-27 NHL season, with just one win in their first three contests (W1, L1, OT1). They’re coming off a 6-4 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. They’ve scored at least three goals in each game and at least four in the last two. Defensively, though, they’re averaging 4.67 goals conceded per game, the third-worst mark in the league.
The Predators haven’t been playing very well, yet somehow have the same record as the Canadiens (W1, L1, OT1). They suffered a 5-4 overtime loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday, and their lone win came against the Dallas Stars (W 2-1) on Oct. 3. Nashville are averaging 3.0 goals allowed per game, so it’s clear where they need to improve.

The goaltending matchup is expected to be Jakub Dobes for Montreal and Juuse Saros for Nashville. Dobes hasn’t been at his best lately and has given up 12 goals on 64 shots over his last two starts, while Saros allowed five goals to Toronto on Tuesday.
The early-season body of work favours Nashville, but that won’t be enough to make them the better side in this matchup. No team in the league has given up more shots through three games than the Predators (97), and the Canadiens rank seventh in goals scored per game at 4.00 per fixture. With Nashville playing back-to-back road games and coming off an away loss, the hosts are well placed to win.
Nashville Predators vs Montreal Canadiens Player Prop
- Prop Bet: Zachary Bolduc to score anytime
- Odds: +270 (Tonybet)
Zachary Bolduc found the back of the net twice in Tuesday’s loss to the Hurricanes, bringing his total to three goals in three games.
Even though Nick Suzuki gets most of the praise for his playmaking, and Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky have bigger offensive roles, I’m backing Bolduc to find the back of the net here. His recent performance against Carolina was a step in the right direction, and he’s been effective so far with three goals in just five shots on target.
Nashville Predators vs Montreal Canadiens Same Game Parlay
- SGP: Over 4.5 goals + Nick Suzuki over 0.5 assists + Steven Stamkos over 0.5 points
Given the defensive issues both teams have shown lately, this clash could go over 4.5 total goals. The line has hit in each of Montreal’s three games this season and Nashville’s most recent outing. The previous two head-to-head meetings have also produced at least five goals.

I’m also backing Nick Suzuki and Steven Stamkos to contribute offensively. Suzuki is the one pulling the strings in the offensive zone for the Canadiens, and his influence is notable, as he has already assisted on four of Montreal’s 12 goals this season.
As for Stamkos, he can either score or assist to hit this line – the veteran sniper has a team-high four points (three goals, one assist), factoring in on four of Nashville’s seven goals. His role on the first line and as the focal point of the offence can’t be overlooked against a struggling Montreal defence.

Nashville Predators Team News
The lone absence on a relatively healthy Predators roster continues to be goaltender Justus Annunen, who remains on injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury. Matt Murray has taken over the backup spot behind Saros.
The Predators can’t rely on their defence right now, as they’ve allowed a league-high 97 shots, meaning their offence will have to carry them on this trip to Montreal.
Stamkos has a team-high four points, but other players expected to play a big role for Nashville include Filip Forsberg, who has three assists, and Nils Hoglander, who has three goals in his last two games.
Montreal Canadiens Team News
The Habs will be without a key contributor on offence, as Ivan Demidov landed on injured reserve earlier this week and is expected to miss three to four weeks. He recorded 62 points last season (19 goals, 43 assists), so his absence will be difficult to cover, though Chris Kreider and Kirby Dach should be in line for bigger roles.

Otherwise, Montreal’s injury list is unchanged. Depth players Lucas Condotta (undisclosed), Kaiden Guhle (groin), Oliver Kapanen (lower body), and Bryce Pickford (undisclosed) are all out and aren’t expected to return in the near future.
