The Cavaliers have won both games of the series in Cleveland by double digits. They opened with a 126-113 victory and followed it up with a 115-105 win.

The series now shifts to Toronto, but there is little evidence to suggest the Cavaliers won’t remain as clear favourites – even with the next two outings on the road.

That’s largely because Cleveland posted excellent numbers away from home during the regular season, finishing with a 25-16 record, the third-best in the Eastern Conference.

Only the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics, the first and second seeds respectively, performed better on the road. By contrast, the Raptors were not particularly dominant at home, posting a 24-17 record in front of their fans.

Toronto did win four of their last five home encounters, but they were basically a .500-level team at Scotiabank Arena.

When factoring in the Cavaliers’ superior star power and considerably greater playoff experience, it’s difficult to see the Raptors having much of a chance to turn things around here.

Simply put, Cleveland are the better side, and that was evident in the first two games. Given that Scotiabank Arena hasn’t provided much of a home-court advantage for Toronto, the Cavaliers should have a good opportunity to claim another victory.

Any result other than a Cleveland win – and a 3-0 series lead – would come as a surprise.

Even though the addition of James Harden has given the Cavaliers another go-to scoring option heading into the playoffs, Donovan Mitchell was always expected to be the team’s No. 1 offensive weapon.

That has been evident in the first two games of the series, where Mitchell has surpassed the 30-point mark while making at least 10 field goals in each outing. There is little reason to expect that to change on Thursday.

Mitchell scored 32 points while going 11-for-20 from the field in Game 1, before following it up with a 30-point performance on 13-for-23 shooting in Game 2.

His efficiency might dip slightly on the road, but Mitchell should still find a way to get his points. He averaged 27.9 points per game in the regular season and 27.5 ppg in four encounters against Toronto in 2025-26, including the playoffs.

Moreover, since the Raptors are unlikely to have the weapons to slow down the Cavaliers, mainly Mitchell and Harden, a high-scoring matchup might be on the cards.

Harden should also find a way to make an impact. He recorded exactly 32 points + assists in each of the first two encounters. That figure might dip slightly here, but he’s still expected to make a big impact as both a scorer and a playmaker.

The Raptors should be close to full strength heading into this contest. Their only concern is the availability of Immanuel Quickley, who’s dealing with a nagging hamstring injury and is listed as questionable.

The Cavaliers are uncertain whether Thomas Bryant will be available for Game 3, as the veteran big man is dealing with a calf injury. However, Bryant is a depth option in the frontcourt and wouldn’t see steady minutes even if available. Jarrett Allen is dealing with tendinitis but isn’t expected to face any limitations in Game 3.
