Tampa Bay Lightning vs Montreal Canadiens Moneyline Prediction
- Moneyline Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning
In a game where special teams were key, with five of the seven goals scored on the power play, the Canadiens secured a 4-3 overtime win over the Lightning in Game 1 of the series.
However, the Bolts will have a chance to bounce back in Game 2 on Tuesday in Tampa, as they aim to travel to Montreal with the series tied 1-1.
The Lightning held the edge in shots on goal (23 to 19) in Game 1 but failed to capitalise fully on their power-play opportunities, finishing 2-for-4.

The Canadiens were far more efficient, converting three of their five chances with the man advantage, including the overtime winner from Jakub Slafkovský.
The Lightning were among the strongest home teams in the Eastern Conference during the regular season (W26, L14, OT1); however, they went W1, L1 at home against the Canadiens. The Bolts need to tighten things up defensively, but they should have enough offensive power to create chances against a Montreal defence that allowed 3.12 goals per game in the regular season.
Alright, buckle up.

This series looks tight, and another overtime meeting wouldn’t be surprising. That said, the Lightning are just too good not to capitalise on their chances this time. Look for Tampa Bay to bounce back and get things back on track.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Montreal Canadiens Player Prop
- Prop Bet: Nikita Kucherov over 0.5 goals
One of the key reasons the Lightning fell short in Game 1 was that several of their star players didn’t produce when it mattered the most. Much of the criticism was directed toward Nikita Kucherov – and for good reason.
The star winger led the team in shots on goal in Game 1 with five, but he couldn’t find the back of the net.

Even though Kucherov did contribute with two assists, the Bolts need him to be sharper in front of goal after a regular season in which he ranked second among all skaters in points with 130 (44 goals, 86 assists).
If he opens his scoring account on Tuesday, the Lightning will certainly have more chances to avoid going to Montreal with a 0-2 deficit.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs Montreal Canadiens Same Game Parlay
- SGP: Over 4.5 goals + Nick Suzuki over 0.5 assists + Jake Guentzel over 0.5 assists
Game 1 produced seven goals, and high-scoring contests have been a consistent trend in this matchup. Including both the playoffs and the regular season, four of the last five head-to-head meetings between these teams have featured at least five goals.
While playoff hockey typically brings tighter games and fewer chances, both sides possess too much offensive talent to expect a low-scoring battle here.
We’re pairing the over line with two star-calibre players, Jake Guentzel and Nick Suzuki, to leave their mark on the scoresheet.

Even though Kucherov remains the focal point of Tampa Bay’s attack, Guentzel’s contributions can’t be overlooked. He thrived as a playmaker in Game 1 and assisted on all three of the goals while recording four shots on goal.
Expect him to be heavily involved once again.
As for Suzuki, he was one of eight players to cross the 100-point threshold in the regular season, finishing with 29 goals and 72 assists across 82 appearances.
He opened the playoffs with two assists in Game 1, and given his elite playmaking ability, it would be no surprise to see him on the scoresheet again.
