The last week of the best English League has arrived – and boy, is it shaping up to be a proper fun one. We‘ve already crowned the champions, the Top 4 is probably going to stay more or less the same, but that doesn‘t mean there‘s going to be a lack of exciting fixtures. Chelsea‘s got a pretty brilliant fixture tonight, so let‘s take a look at that!
Liverpool and Chelsea are currently in neighbouring positions on the League Table, with the Reds having the eighth and the Blues – the ninth place. While Chelsea‘s results are a sad reminder of what their season was before Hiddink came to the rescue, Liverpool‘s is a brighter promise of a better run next year.
According to the TonyBet bookies, Klopp should top off his 50th Liverpool game with a win at the Anfield stadium tonight. That could also mean that his squad could go up a place at the League Table and get the seventh place – although admittedly, their Europa League final is probably much more likely to be the highlight of their season.
Chelsea is going to go to this fixture with a fractured team: Diego Costa, Kurt Zouma and Branislav Ivanovic are all out, while Pedro Rodriguez has a broken nose and a face mask – which was spotted when he was training. Still, his potential participation in the upcoming game remains a big doubt.
However, Liverpool is not very healthy either. They are going to play without Joe Gomez and Divok Origi amongst other, although they may get Danny Ings back. We have seen them play – and win – while dealing with serious injury crisis though, so it’s unlikely that Klopp will let this turn his party sour. It would be a very symbolic victory indeed.
This season of the Premier League has been a total roller-coaster. Needless to say, this will seep through to the following season just as well – and that’s going to be very fun to watch. Making predictions before the transfers have properly started is very risky, but one thing can be clearly seen: we’re in for a wild ride.
