While they secured a win over Qatar in the group-stage finale, they struggled against Canada and looked outmatched against Switzerland, posting an xG of under 1.00 in both games. That doesn’t bode well for their chances against a USA team that thrive in transition due to their pace and technical quality in the final third.
Bosnia and Herzegovina are likely to deploy a low defensive block and exploit the counter, while the USA should dominate possession and create the bulk of the scoring chances. The USA earned just three corners in their 4-1 win over Paraguay, but followed that with a combined 16 in total against Australia and Turkiye. Having cleared the 5.5-corner line in each of their last two matches, they should do so again in a game where they’re expected to dominate.
