New England Revolution vs Inter Miami Preview and Team News

New England Revolution Team News

The New England Revolution have been slumping in recent weeks. They’ve extended their winless skid to four fixtures with a 2-1 loss to the Portland Timbers. Despite strong individual performances from key players Carles Gil and Luca Langoni, the team once again faltered on the defensive end. The Revs have now conceded nine goals over that four-game winless run.

As worrisome as that stretch may be for Caleb Porter’s men, things are even more complicated when playing at home.

The Revolution have gone five straight matches without a win in front of their fans at Gillette Stadium and have conceded at least three goals on three occasions during that span. They also allowed four goals the last time Inter Miami visited the venue in the previous season.

There’s a strong chance that New England will be weakened in the attack in the upcoming clash. Tomás Chancalay is listed as doubtful with a groin injury and is unlikely to play, while Ignatius Ganago has been ruled out due to a quadriceps issue. Goalkeeper Alex Bono (neck) and defender Ilay Feingold (ankle) are also out for Wednesday’s outing.

New England Revolution predicted lineup vs Inter Miami (3-4-1-2): Ivacic; Fofana, Beason, Ceballos; Bye, Polster, Yusuf, Miller; Gil; Langoni, Campana.

Inter Miami Team News

Inter Miami have returned to domestic action following their exit in the round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at the hands of PSG with an impressive performance. After conceding an early goal, they rallied to secure a 4-1 away victory over Montreal, extending their winning streak in league play to three matches. They’re also unbeaten in their last four MLS outings.

Perhaps the one thing that was more noticeable when watching Javier Mascherano’s men following their Club World Cup campaign was that they looked a step or two quicker than an average MLS club.

Their attacking transitions were faster, and the movement in midfield, as well as the overlaps from the full-backs, were reliable offensive weapons.

We don’t expect Inter Miami to make many changes to their starting eleven, as they’ve maintained a pretty consistent lineup in recent fixtures. The list of absentees hasn’t changed much, with Noah Allen (hamstring), Yannick Bright (hamstring), Gonzalo Luján (strain), and David Ruiz (hamstring) all expected to remain sidelined. Luis Suárez is set to lead the attacking line alongside Lionel Messi.

Inter Miami predicted lineup vs New England Revolution (4-3-3): Ustari; Weigandt, Falcón, Avilés, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Redondo, Segovia; Messi, Suárez, Allende.

New England Revolution vs Inter Miami Prediction, Odds

It’s safe to say these two teams are riding opposite runs of form and confidence. On one hand, the Revs are on a four-game winless skid and have also failed to win any of their last five home matches.

On the other hand, Inter Miami have received a massive boost from their performances at the FIFA Club World Cup and easily defeated Montreal the last time out.

Given how both sides have been performing in recent weeks, and with Mascherano’s men playing on a different level of intensity compared to the rest of the league, it’s easy to believe that the Herons should secure the victory here. Inter Miami had to adjust their tempo to face the likes of Palmeiras, Porto, and PSG over the last few weeks.

If they can maintain that intensity, very few MLS clubs will be able to keep pace with them.

New England Revolution vs Inter Miami Betting Tip

Let’s continue with the trend of Inter Miami being the clear odds-on favourite against a struggling Revolution team. If we exclude the loss to PSG, which was expected, we can see that Lionel Messi and co. have gone undefeated in their last seven league matches. A key factor in that run has been their ability to start strong and set the tempo early.

Only a few days ago, Inter Miami took the lead before the end of the first half in their 4-1 victory over Montreal. They’ve held the lead at the break in each of their last three league outings, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see that again, especially given the defensive issues the Revolution have had in recent weeks.
