Liverpool vs Manchester City Moneyline Prediction

Liverpool is one of five undefeated teams remaining in the 2026-27 Premier League season, but their record has been far from impressive (W2, D3). The team could easily have suffered one or two defeats already if not for some late goals. Its lack of firepower up front has been an issue, with just seven goals scored across five fixtures.

Manchester City is the only team to have won all five of its opening matches in the 2026-27 Premier League season. Despite their off-field problems, Enzo Maresca’s men have the league’s second-best attack (GF: 13) and second-best defence (GC: 5) in the Premier League.

Liverpool has enough talent to compete toe-to-toe with the Cityzens, but the Reds won’t be at full strength, with several starters likely to miss this game through injury, including Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo. It should be a tight contest, but expect City to snatch the win.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Player Prop

Erling Haaland is always a major threat to find the back of the net, and Sunday’s game at Anfield shouldn’t be any different.

Although he’ll face a tough test against the Reds’ solid defensive line, Haaland has enjoyed success in this fixture before, scoring eight goals in 11 matches against the Merseyside club. With five goals in five EPL matches this season, Haaland could add to his tally.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Same Game Parlay

Only one of the last five meetings between these clubs has seen both teams find the back of the net, but we’re backing that outcome given the attacking talent on both sides. In addition, BTTS has landed in four of City’s seven competitive matches in 2026-27.

Even if both teams score, I’m backing the under on the 4.5-goal market, as these are two of the Premier League’s best defences this season. Three of City’s five EPL matches and all five of Liverpool’s have produced four or fewer goals. Their last seven head-to-head meetings have also stayed under.

City averages 8.4 total corners per game, the fourth-highest figure in the EPL, while Liverpool averages just 7.4, ranking 12th. Based on those numbers, the under looks like a promising option.

Liverpool vs Manchester City Team News

Liverpool Team News

Liverpool has several doubts ahead of this match, most of them in attack. Alexander Isak (thigh) and Cody Gakpo (ankle) are likely to miss the game, meaning the Reds may have to rely on backup options such as Victor Muñoz, Federico Chiesa, and youngster Rio Ngumoha to threaten City’s back line.

They’re also expected to be without defender Jeremy Jacquet, who picked up an injury while on international duty with France.

Manchester City Team News

Manchester City has a few doubts of its own, as Nico O’Reilly (undisclosed) and Antoine Semenyo (ankle) have yet to be cleared to return. However, both players were back in action in training this week and could be available, as could Jeremy Doku.

City’s only confirmed absence is Phil Foden, who remains suspended following the red card he received against Manchester United.
