Fulham vs Manchester United Preview and Team News
Fulham Team News
Fulham opened their 2025-26 Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw at Amex Stadium against Brighton.
However, they can consider themselves lucky to have snatched a point out of that fixture. Not only did Brighton dominate the contest with ease, but they also had a goal disallowed that could’ve changed the outcome of the game. The Cottagers eventually found a stoppage-time equalizer through Rodrigo Muniz.
Muniz is one of the club’s several players who have been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage this summer.

With an uninspiring transfer activity and a subpar start to the season, it’s easy to see why Fulham aren’t particularly excited with the team’s start. They looked good in the preseason after winning their three outings, but they’re now enduring another rocky beginning to England’s top-flight life.
Marco Silva isn’t expected to make drastic changes to the side after the draw at Brighton and should maintain his 4-2-3-1 setup. The lone doubt ahead of Sunday’s matchup is Ryan Sessegnon, though he’s not likely to start even if fit.
Antonee Robinson remains the only confirmed absence due to a knee injury, with Calvin Bassey expected to start in his place even though he’s a centre-back by trade.
Fulham predicted lineup vs Manchester United (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Cuenca, Andersen, Bassey; Berge, Lukic; Wilson, King, Iwobi; Jiménez.
Manchester United Team News
Manchester United showed some glimpses of promise in their 2025-26 Premier League debut at Old Trafford against Arsenal. The match ended in a 1-0 defeat, but Ruben Amorim’s side deserved better luck. With Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo wreaking havoc on the Gunners’ defence, the Red Devils generated enough clear-cut chances to have escaped with at least one point.
Amorim isn’t going to tweak his tactical approach after one loss, especially given how good the team looked against one of the league’s title contenders.

United edged Arsenal in possession (61% to 39%), xG (1.52 to 1.30) and had far more scoring attempts (22 shots to nine) than their rivals. ManU are likely to bring the same intensity they displayed in the second half.
That said, Amorim is expected to make some changes to the starting XI. Amad Diallo and Benjamin Šeško showed enough quality in brief second-half cameos to deserve a spot in the lineup. The biggest doubt for the manager comes between the posts. Altay Bayındır started against the Gunners, but after another costly mistake, it wouldn’t be surprising if André Onana returns to the starting lineup.
Manchester United predicted lineup vs Fulham (3-4-3): Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Diallo, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Cunha, Šeško, Mbeumo.

- Correct score prediction: Fulham 1-2 Manchester United
Manchester United might have opened the 2025-26 season with a defeat against Arsenal, but no one would’ve said anything had the team secured a better result.
Knowing that the Gunners are among the best sides in the league, a repeat of that performance could be enough to get past the challenge of Fulham, even with the match taking place away from home.
The strength of that notion lies in the impressive collection of attacking talent the Red Devils boast right now.

Cunha and Mbeumo looked like difference-makers against Arsenal, while Šeško shouldn’t have problems dealing with the opposing centre-backs from a physical perspective.
Add in the creativity of Bruno Fernandes and the explosiveness of Diallo, and it may simply be too much for Fulham to handle.
The Red Devils should also have a psychological advantage heading into this game, as their recent record at Craven Cottage in league play has been excellent. Manchester United have won in each of their last eight trips to Craven Cottage while keeping five clean sheets. Based on how both squads looked in their opening fixtures, it wouldn’t be shocking if that trend continues in ManU’s favour.
Fulham vs Manchester United Betting Tip
- Pick: Both teams to score and over 2.5 total goals
- Odds: +100 (Tonybet)
Manchester United hold the edge when it comes to their recent form at Craven Cottage. However, it’s hard to see them keeping a clean sheet at the moment, given all the defensive problems they’ve had.
Their backline doesn’t provide enough confidence regardless of who’s in front, so Fulham might have a shot at inflicting some damage in the final meters.
While the Red Devils are favourites to get the victory and should return to Old Trafford with all three points, a scenario in which both teams find the back of the net can’t be ruled out. That has happened in two of their previous four head-to-head meetings, including their recent FA Cup match on March 2.
