FC Porto have been outstanding at the start of the 2026-27 season, winning their first five league fixtures and beating Torreense in the Super Cup last month. More impressive than their perfect start to the league campaign is the fact that the team have scored at least two goals in every match while conceding just once during that span. That lone allowed goal came in a 2-1 victory over Moreirense this past weekend.

Manchester City haven’t been turning heads with their play in the opening stages of the 2026-27 Premier League season, but they’ve managed to post a perfect record after the first three rounds (W3). They’re coming off a tight 1-0 win over Coventry City, and at the very least, they’ve managed to put their ugly 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield on August 16 behind them.

The Dragons have been outstanding at home, although they haven’t faced an opponent as dangerous as Man City yet. Their defensive skills will be put to the test, and chances are the Cityzens will have enough quality to come through that test. Don’t expect a very open match here, but the visitors should be good enough to win.

FC Porto will be massively depleted by injuries, suspensions, and the absence of a few first-team players. Jan Bednarek is suspended, while Gabriel Mec and Dominik Prpic have not been included in the club’s 2026-27 UCL roster for the league phase.

FC Porto will also be without Samu, who has yet to return from the ACL injury he sustained last season, as well as Vasco Sousa (leg) and Oskar Pietuszewski (muscular). Zaidu and Victor Froholdt, two players who would likely start if fit and available, are also question marks due to injuries. It won’t be surprising if both are sidelined.

This midweek fixture comes too soon for him, and in his absence, players like Ndiaye, Phil Foden, and Antoine Semenyo are all options to start.
