Ottawa Senators vs New Jersey Devils Main Match Info

Ottawa Senators vs New Jersey Devils Moneyline Prediction

This is a battle between two struggling Eastern Conference sides, as neither come into this game in noteworthy form. The Senators are coming off a 2-1 home loss to the St. Louis Blues last Saturday, and that defeat means they’ve dropped two in a row and four of their previous five.

One of the most significant issues for Ottawa during that stretch has been the lack of firepower on offence, as they’ve scored two or fewer goals in three of those four defeats. They did manage to net five against the Canadiens, but given Montreal’s defensive issues all season, that’s not much of a benchmark. The Senators need to find a way to get back to scoring consistently if they want to get back to winning ways here.

The situation with the Devils is even more complicated. They recently suffered a 4-1 away defeat to the Boston Bruins, a result that pushed their winless skid to five contests.

That’s their longest losing run of the campaign, and it seems it won’t end any time soon, especially with New Jersey missing key contributors on offence.

It’s hard to rely on either of these teams to secure an outright victory, so this game could easily need overtime or a shootout to find a winner. But based on home-ice advantage, the amount of travel and rest, and the overall form in recent weeks, the Senators should be considered favourites to get the win here.

New Jersey can’t beat anyone right now, and their slump is likely to continue here.

If the Senators are to get back to winning ways against a struggling Devils team, they’ll need their best players to step up. And right now, there’s not a more decisive player on the Sens’ roster than Fabian Zetterlund.

The 26-year-old winger found the back of the net in the 2-1 loss to the Blues with a power-play goal, meaning he’s scored five goals in Ottawa’s last eight games. Look for him to continue that trend here.

Ottawa Senators vs New Jersey Devils Same Game Parlay

For our three-leg parlay, we’re backing the Senators to get the win for the reasons outlined above. However, we’re also expecting a high-scoring matchup, one that could finally break the streak of poor offensive performances from both teams.

It’s worth noting that five of Ottawa’s last six games have produced six or more goals, while five of New Jersey’s last seven have featured five or more.

Last but not least, look for Tim Stutzle to contribute to the scoresheet. Even though Zetterlund has been the Senators’ top scoring threat in recent outings, Stutzle has been remarkably consistent throughout the campaign – even if he’s going through a slump right now.

The 23-year-old might be on a cold streak of just one point in his last five appearances, but he’s too good to continue struggling at this rate. Stutzle has 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 28 encounters this season.

Ottawa Senators Team News

The Senators have doubts about Lars Eller’s availability, as the centre is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is listed as day-to-day. More clarity on the 36-year-old veteran’s status will likely come after Tuesday morning’s skate.

Ottawa will be without two key players in Shane Pinto (lower body) and Thomas Chabot (upper body). Chabot has missed several games already, but the absence of Pinto is a huge blow for the Senators’ offence since he’s racked up 12 goals and 18 total points so far in 2025-26.

New Jersey Devils Team News

The Devils will wait to see whether Zack MacEwen will be available for this contest, as the centre is dealing with a lower-body injury and will be a game-time decision. He’s the only injured player who has a shot at being available on Tuesday, though.

They’re missing star playmaker Jack Hughes (finger), winger Evgeni Dadonov (undisclosed), centre Marc McLaughlin (undisclosed), and defensemen Brett Pesce (upper body) and Johnny Kovacevic (knee). The absences of Hughes and Dadonov are particularly damaging for a team that have been slumping badly over the past two weeks.
