Winnipeg Jets vs Ottawa Senators Moneyline Prediction
- Moneyline Pick: Winnipeg Jets
Let’s start by saying that neither the Jets (W2, L3) nor the Senators (W1, L4) have been playing well in recent weeks. However, if we’re looking to see some silver lining on both teams, it’s easy to see why the Jets should be considered the favorites here – even if they’ve won just two of their last five games overall (L3).
Playing at home against a team that’s in the midst of a road trip should be favorable for a Jets team that celebrated their return home with a 5-1 win over the Capitals on Saturday.
The home-ice advantage is not the only thing that’s working in the Jets’ favor, though. Winnipeg should have some kind of psychological edge as well after beating the Senators in four of the five previous head-to-head meetings.

The Senators have gone W1, L1 in their current road trip, defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets (W 6-3) on Thursday, Dec. 11, before losing to the Minnesota Wild (L 3-2) on Saturday, Dec. 13. Ottawa have dropped four of their last five games overall while failing to score more than two goals in three of those losses. The lack of firepower on offense has been an issue for the Sens of late.
Playing at home against a tired team that has had issues finding the back of the net paints a favorable picture of the Jets. Even though Winnipeg hasn’t been nearly as good as they were last season, they should be able to secure the victory here in front of their fans.
Winnipeg Jets vs. Ottawa Senators Player Prop
- Prop Bet: Kyle Connor over 0.5 points
Even though the Jets have been struggling a bit in terms of results, Kyle Connor has been a nightmare matchup for defenses around the league.
The star winger hasn’t scored in four games in a row, but his consistent involvement on offense makes him a dangerous player. He’s someone opposing defences have to plan against to slow him down.
So far, that approach hasn’t really worked. Connor is riding an eight-game point streak dating back to Nov. 29, when he scored a goal in a 5-2 win over the Predators.

The 29-year-old has racked up 12 points (four goals, eight assists) while posting four multi-point performances over that stretch.
The Senators rank in the middle of the pack in goals conceded, with 102 (3.29 per game), which ranks seventh in the Eastern Conference. Given how good Connor has been playing of late, don’t be surprised if he keeps the point streak alive. A player prop on anytime scorer would also be a viable option, as Connor is due to score — he hasn’t gone five games without a goal since early October.
Winnipeg Jets vs. Ottawa Senators Same Game Parlay
- SGP: Jets to win + Over 4.5 total goals + Mark Scheifele over 0.5 total points
Our three-leg parlay is backing the Jets to win in a game that should be relatively high scoring while also seeing Mark Scheifele, another of Winnipeg’s key players, to crack the scoresheet. The Jets should find a way to win since they’re at home against a tired opponent that has been struggling of late.
The over on the goals market looks attainable on paper as well. The previous three H2H meetings have had at least five total goals, the same as nine of Winnipeg’s last 10 games and each of the Senators’ previous three.

Last but not least, expect Scheifele to crack the scoresheet. He delivered two assists in the Jets’ win over the Capitals on Saturday and has been playing well of late. He has notched 12 points over his last nine games (five goals, seven assists).
Winnipeg Jets vs Ottawa Senators Team News
Winnipeg Jets Team News
The Jets enjoyed the return of Connor Hellebuyck in the win over the Capitals on Saturday, so they’re pretty much at full strength heading into this contest. Their lone injury concern is Haydn Fleury, who should be considered a game-time call as he’s dealing with a concussion.
Ottawa Senators Team News
The Senators will be without Shane Pinto once again, as the winger is dealing with a lower-body injury and isn’t expected to return to action before Saturday, Dec. 20. Thomas Chabot (upper body) and Lars Eller (lower body) are also sidelined for this contest, but like Pinto, both should be eligible to return this week.
