New Jersey Devils vs Winnipeg Jets Main Match Info

New Jersey Devils vs Winnipeg Jets Moneyline Prediction

The Devils have been the perfect model of inconsistency over their last 10 outings, posting both a three-game losing streak and a three-game winning run during that span.

They’re coming off a 4-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, a result that leaves them with a W5, L5 record over their last 10 encounters.

However, the Devils should be particularly motivated for this contest since they’ll finally return home after a four-game Western Conference road trip, where they went W3, L1.

They should have the upper hand in a clash against a Jets team that not only have been struggling, but could very well be considered one of the biggest disappointments of the 2025-26 NHL campaign.

Winnipeg are coming off a 5-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, meaning they’ve dropped four of their last five contests (W1, L2, OT2).

Playing on the road won’t be easy for them, either, as they’ve also lost four of their last five away from home while averaging 3.2 goals allowed per game in that span.

With the Jets looking subpar on the defensive end, and the Devils set to return home after a prolonged road trip, this looks like a matchup where New Jersey could take advantage to get back to winning ways. The special teams could be a factor here as well, as the Devils rank 12th in power-play percentage (22.3 percent).

One of the most productive defencemen in the NHL this season, Hamilton could very well operate as one of the Devils’ most reliable scoring weapons despite not being a forward.

Hamilton recorded a goal and an assist in the 4-2 loss to the Kraken and pushed his point streak to eight games with that two-point performance.

The last time Hamilton didn’t record a point was the Jan. 6 loss to the Islanders, where New Jersey suffered a thumping 9-0 defeat. Since then, he’s posted one goal and nine assists over his last 10 contests.

His playmaking ability out of the blueline could be a huge weapon for the Devils in a clash where they’ll go up against a Jets team that have struggled defensively in recent weeks.

Don’t be surprised if this encounter turns into a low-scoring affair. Both teams have looked better defensively than offensively, with the Jets ranking 22nd (2.90) and the Devils 29th (2.60) in goals scored per game this season, versus them sitting level in 13th place (3.06) in goals allowed.

Even if this meeting ends up being relatively low-scoring, look for some of the star players to step up. Enter Mark Scheifele for the Jets, as the star winger has attempted at least two shots in five of his last seven outings while averaging 2.07 SOG since the beginning of January.

As for Hamilton, he’s on a hot streak and should find a way to get involved if the Devils score at least one goal. The veteran defender has notched nine of his 13 assists this season over his last 10 appearances.

The Jets could receive defensive reinforcements for this clash since Neal Pionk, who’s been dealing with a lower-body injury, could return to action. He’ll be a game-time call for this contest. Meanwhile, Haydn Fleury (upper body) and Colin Miller (knee) remain sidelined and won’t be able to suit up for this matchup.

The Devils won’t see major changes to their lineup since they still have four players listed on LTIR. Stefan Noesen (knee) could return in the early days of February, but Marc McLaughlin (undisclosed) will be out until after the Olympic break, and Luke Hughes (shoulder) won’t return until March. Zack MacEwen (knee) has already been ruled out for the rest of the 2025-26 season.
