The Jets fought hard on Tuesday but came up short, losing to the Dallas Stars 4-3. Despite two goals from Mark Scheifele and two assists from Kyle Connor, Winnipeg’s comeback attempt fell flat due to their subpar defensive play. That has been a trend for the team in 2025-26.

The lack of defensive prowess is even more noticeable in the absence of arguably their best player, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who is injured and won’t return to the ice until January at the earliest. 

The Jets haven’t been able to string positive results together and have dropped four of their last five games (W1, L3, OT1). They’ve allowed 18 goals over that span.

The Jets’ struggles could be just what the Bruins need to continue playing well. Boston are coming off a solid 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. That was their third victory in a row and fourth in their previous five contests. 

They’ve scored at least four goals while conceding no more than two in each of their three wins. It’s clear that the Bruins are trending in the right direction.

All these factors suggest Boston should be able to get the victory in this matchup. Their offence is hot right now and should be able to take advantage of the struggles and lack of discipline shown by the Jets’ defence. 

Winnipeg have won three of the last four head-to-head meetings, but that streak should end here.

Pastrnak returned to the Bruins’ lineup after a five-game absence and did it in style, recording two helpers in the win over the Blues. He’s been impeccable for Boston all season long and has already netted 11 times while tallying 31 points, but now he’s going through a scoring drought. 

His last goal came in a 5-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 14, meaning he’s played eight games without finding the back of the net. That’s too much for a player who has scored at least 40 goals in each of the last four seasons. 

Even though Pastrnak would have to get into a massive scoring run to even sniff the chance of hitting the 40-goal plateau, he should be able to find the net sooner rather than later. 

Facing a slumping defence without their starting goaltender looks like a good opportunity to get back to his scoring ways.

For our three-leg parlay, we believe this encounter will produce at least five goals. Each of the Bruins’ last six outings has seen at least five total goals, and the same mark has been hit in the Jets’ last eight contests. The absence of Hellebuyck in Winnipeg, along with Boston’s attack firing on all cylinders, should bolster this idea.

We’re also backing the two best Bruins players – Pastrnak and Morgan Geekie – to crack the scoresheet. Pastrnak delivered two assists in the win over the Blues on Tuesday, while Geekie failed to score or assist. 

Look for that to change in this clash, as the numbers back both players to be productive. 

Pastrnak has posted at least 40 goals and 105 points in each of the last three seasons and is once again averaging more than a point per outing. Even though he’s coming back from injury and hasn’t found the net in nearly a month, he should produce here.

Meanwhile, Geekie had recorded nine points (five goals, four assists) in a five-game span before the win over the Blues and is having a career-best year in 2025-26 with 32 points in 30 fixtures. 

If he stays healthy, Geekie should pulverise his previous career-high mark of 57 points set in 2024-25.
