Carolina Hurricanes vs Toronto Maple Leafs Moneyline Prediction
- Moneyline Pick: Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes are massive favourites, and it only takes a quick glance at the Eastern Conference standings to see there’s a gulf of difference between these two clubs.
The U.S. side are considered among the top Stanley Cup contenders and could be the team to beat in the East. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs have slumped badly and sit near the bottom of the standings.
Primarily, Toronto’s struggles have come on the defensive end of the ice. With 90 goals allowed, they own the fourth-worst defensive record in the Eastern Conference.

Carolina should take advantage of that situation, especially since Joseph Woll has played poorly for the Maple Leafs while replacing Anthony Stolarz, who’s out with a lower-body injury.
Toronto have an excellent attack and have scored 89 goals, the second-best mark in the East, while players such as William Nylander and Auston Matthews have found a way to contribute consistently.
The Maple Leafs should come up with a way to complicate things for the Canes at their own end. However, at the end of the day, Carolina are more balanced. Their defence is better than Toronto’s, as they’ve conceded only 70 goals, the second-best mark in the Conference. The Hurricanes should take advantage of their home ice to secure the win.
Carolina Hurricanes vs Toronto Maple Leafs Player Prop
- Prop Bet: Seth Jarvis over 0.5 goals scored
Seth Jarvis grabbed headlines last week after scoring a hat-trick against his former club, the Winnipeg Jets, on November 28.
Even though the Hurricanes don’t have a player who carries the offence on his own the way other teams do, Jarvis has carved out a niche as their go-to scoring weapon. He leads Carolina in goals with 15, seven more than the second-best scorer on the squad, Sebastian Aho.

Jarvis should have plenty of opportunities to produce against a struggling Toronto defence, although to be fair, the Maple Leafs have been playing better of late, allowing two or fewer goals in three of their last four games.
Jarvis also heads into this one in a strong run of form. Hat-trick aside, he’s scored five goals in his last five appearances.
Carolina Hurricanes vs Toronto Maple Leafs Same Game Parlay
- SGP: Hurricanes to win including OT + Over 4.5 goals + Sebastian Aho +1 points
Our three-leg parlay backs up a win for the Hurricanes, but it also predicts a relatively low-scoring contest. Carolina are on a two-game winning run following their victories over the Flames and Jets, and they should have a strong chance to earn a third straight win over a Canadian side.
Considering that the Hurricanes are among the better defences in the Eastern Conference, and given Toronto’s recent improvements on that end of the ice, it wouldn’t be surprising if this clash hits the under in the 5.5 goals market.

The market of over 4.5 total goals could also be an appealing option to add to the parlay. It’s worth noting that the last four head-to-head meetings between these two teams have produced at least five goals. That line has a strong statistical support due to the offensive prowess of both sides.
One player to watch to crack the scoresheet is Aho. Even though Jarvis has been playing well lately and leads the Hurricanes in goals, Aho is the engine that keeps this squad going. The star playmaker leads Carolina in points (24) and assists (16) while ranking second in goals (eight). Aho has cracked the scoresheet in four of his last six outings.
