Montreal Canadiens vs Vegas Golden Knights Main Match Info

Montreal Canadiens vs Vegas Golden Knights Moneyline Prediction

The Golden Knights have been trending in the wrong direction lately and have dropped three of their last four outings, including a 7-1 loss to the Senators last time out.

Even though they have enough offensive firepower to bounce back quickly against almost any side in the league, it’s hard to see them turning things around quickly.

That’s because the Golden Knights are in the midst of an Eastern Conference road trip, and this meeting with the Canadiens will be their fourth consecutive away encounter over a span of six days. That kind of workload is challenging for anyone, but especially for a team dealing with a lengthy injury list.

Defensively, the Golden Knights have struggled on this trip, allowing 14 goals in three outings. That opens the door for the Canadiens, who rank fifth in the NHL in goals scored per game (3.37). Montreal are coming off back-to-back losses to the Bruins and Buffalo Sabres, but they should be able to bounce back at home.

The Canadiens’ home record (W14, L11, OT1) hasn’t exactly been eye-popping, yet they’ve won three of their last five clashes at Bell Centre, and they should have enough in them to get past a tired Golden Knights squad.

Look for Montreal to use that fitness edge to their advantage to get back to winning ways.

Eichel failed to record a point in the 7-1 loss to the Senators on Sunday, but the star playmaker is a threat to rack up multiple shots every time he steps on the ice.

He notched three and four shots in the fixtures against Toronto and Boston, respectively, and he’s tallied at least three shots on goal in nine of his last 11 appearances.

Don’t be surprised if he hits that mark again, as the Golden Knights will need to rely on Eichel if they want to have a shot at getting back to winning ways in this road trip. Eichel is averaging 3.77 shots on goal per game this season, having racked up 61 points (19 goals, 42 assists) in only 44 appearances.

Montreal Canadiens vs Vegas Golden Knights Same Game Parlay

Don’t be surprised if this matchup ends up being a high-scoring affair that hits the mark of over 5.5 goals. After all, both the Canadiens (fifth, 3.37) and the Golden Knights (sixth, 3.33) rank in the top 10 in the NHL in goals scored per game.

Each of Montreal’s last five encounters and four of Vegas’ five have produced over 5.5 goals.

If this meeting turns into a goalfest, look for the best players on both teams to leave a mark. Eichel is leading the Golden Knights in points with 61 across 44 appearances and recently snapped an 11-game point streak in the loss to Ottawa.

Meanwhile, star centre Nick Suzuki has been outstanding as a playmaker and arrives in this fixture having delivered seven helpers over the Canadiens’ last 10 outings.

Montreal Canadiens Team News

The Canadiens are close to being at full strength here. Their two absences are players who have missed considerable time, such as Patrik Laine (abdomen) and Alex Newhook (ankle). While Laine is tabbed to return toward the end of February, Newhook could be back on the ice at some point in mid-March.

Vegas Golden Knights Team News

The Golden Knights are depleted and have seven players ruled out not only for this game but also until the Olympic break. None of them are key members of the roster, but forwards Brett Howden and William Karlsson, as well as goaltender Carter Hart, are solid depth pieces. All three are out due to lower-body injuries.

The rest of the injured list features defencemen Brayden McNabb (upper body) and Alex Pietrangelo (hip), as well as wingers Brandon Saad (undisclosed) and Colton Sissons (upper body).

Pietrangelo has yet to play a game in the 2025-26 season, and it remains uncertain whether he’ll suit up at all this year as he’s dealing with severe hip issues.
