Canada vs Switzerland Moneyline Prediction

Canada were widely expected to cruise their way to victory in their Olympic opener, and that’s exactly what they did. In a game where they racked up 36 shots on goal and 15 more off target, the Canucks found the back of the net at least once in each period en route to an easy 5-0 win.

That result boosted their chances of advancing to the next round, and another victory here would help seal their qualification.

Interestingly, Switzerland could also reach that goal with a win here, although their realistic chances are slim to none. They took advantage of facing the weakest team in the group in the opener, cruising to a 4-0 victory over France

A pair of NHLers stood out in that clash, but Timo Meier, who plays for the New Jersey Devils, turned heads with a two-goal performance.

Even so, Switzerland will need to play a nearly perfect game to have even a minimal shot at winning here, which looks extremely unlikely. The gap in talent and experience between the two sides is just too wide.

As soon as Canada put the pedal to the metal, they should find a way to crack Switzerland’s defensive setup.

The Canucks are expected to rely on their dominant scoring line, led by Nathan MacKinnon, Macklin Celebrini, and Connor McDavid – all three hit the scoresheet in the tournament opener. If the attack is as sharp as it looked against the Czech Republic, Canada shouldn’t have trouble securing another victory.

McDavid didn’t find the back of the net in the tournament opener, but he still made an impact and participated in three of the team’s five goals with assists to Celebrini, MacKinnon, and Nick Suzuki.

The Edmonton Oilers star should be in line for another big performance, as Switzerland aren’t as good defensively or as deep in NHL-level talent as the Czechs – at least on paper.

Given that McDavid is averaging 1.66 points per game in the 2025-26 NHL campaign, he shouldn’t have trouble getting on the scoresheet here, especially if he remains as involved as he was in the opener.

Look for him to deliver multiple points for the second straight Olympic contest.

Canada vs Switzerland Same Game Parlay

Our three-leg parlay not only backs Canada to win, but to do so by a multiple-goal margin. A rather slim 2.5-goal spread looks attainable for them.

The Canucks have scored at least five goals in six of their last eight games, excluding the Spengler Cup, and it’s not out of the question to see them hit that mark again.

Even though Switzerland’s tournament opener against France produced under 4.5 goals, that should change this time around, as the Swiss will face a tougher challenge.

Last but not least, expect MacKinnon to find the back of the net for a second consecutive contest. The star playmaker scored a power-play goal in the win over the Czech Republic, and he should be involved enough to be a scoring threat once again.

Canada Team News

Canada aren’t dealing with any new injury concerns following the tournament opener against the Czech Republic, and major lineup changes seem unlikely.

The Canucks should continue to rely on their elite attacking line to get past their rivals here. With the Swiss defence likely to struggle against McDavid, MacKinnon, Macklin Celebrini, and Sidney Crosby, another dominant Canadian performance could very well be on the cards.

Switzerland Team News

Switzerland don’t have any fresh injury concerns ahead of this contest and are expected to ice an unchanged lineup in their second group-stage game.

Most of their chances will rest on the shoulders of Timo Meier, who scored two of the team’s four goals in the 4-0 victory over France. However, Switzerland are massive underdogs and should have a hard time here even with their best lineup and a near-error-free performance.
