Colorado Avalanche vs Vegas Golden Knights Moneyline Prediction
- Moneyline Pick: Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche might be dealing with a bit of rust ahead of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Golden Knights, as they haven’t stepped on the ice since Game 5 of their series against the Minnesota Wild on May 13.
Vegas, meanwhile, have only had one extra day of rest.
In situations like this, home-ice advantage becomes even more important. The Avalanche have been nearly unstoppable at Ball Arena, where they’ve won all five of their home games this postseason.

The Golden Knights have won four of six on the road (W4, L1, OT1), but it remains to be seen how they’ll adjust to the altitude in Denver.
The edge in goal also belongs to the Avalanche, as Scott Wedgewood has been excellent, posting a 7-1 record with a 2.21 GAA and a .914 save percentage. Carter Hart has also performed well for the Golden Knights (8-4, 2.37 GAA, .917), but his numbers dip slightly on the road (16 goals allowed on 154 shots faced). All things considered, the Avs look like overwhelming favourites and should find a way to take the series opener.
Colorado Avalanche vs Vegas Golden Knights Player Prop
- Prop Bet: Nathan MacKinnon to score anytime
MacKinnon hadn’t scored until Game 4 of the first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings. However, he’s been unstoppable ever since and is currently riding a six-game, seven-goal streak.
Even though he scored just once in three regular-season meetings with Vegas in 2025-26, his current form makes him a prime candidate to find the back of the net.
Colorado Avalanche vs Vegas Golden Knights Same Game Parlay
- SGP: Over 5.5 goals + Martin Necas over 2.5 shots on goal + Jack Eichel over 0.5 assists
Our three-leg parlay leans toward a high-scoring matchup. The Avalanche lead the playoffs in goals per game (4.11), while the Golden Knights rank third (3.67), so there’s plenty of offensive firepower on both sides. Two of their regular-season meetings produced at least six goals.
Even though MacKinnon receives most of the attention as the team’s leading scorer with 13 points, the contributions of Martin Necas can’t be overlooked. The playmaker has found the net only once in the playoffs, but he leads the Avalanche in assists (10) and ranks second in shots on goal with 25.

Considering that Necas averages nearly three shots on goal per game, and that he’s tallied three or more in five of his last six appearances, this looks like a solid line.
Expect Jack Eichel to be heavily involved on offence for the Golden Knights, as he leads them in assists (14) and shots on goal (35) while ranking second in points with 15, just three behind Mitch Marner’s 18.
Eichel’s ability to unleash shots on goal with ease is a key part of his game, and as long as he remains involved offensively, he’s a prime candidate to make things happen and record an assist.
Colorado Avalanche vs Vegas Golden Knights Team News
Colorado Avalanche Team News
The Avalanche received encouraging news, as star defenceman Cale Makar will be able to play without any limitations in this series opener. However, there are doubts about the availability of Artturi Lehkonen and Sam Malinski, both of whom are dealing with upper-body injuries.
Malinski is a depth piece on the defensive line, but Lehkonen is a top-six forward who has racked up three goals and six points in seven playoff appearances so far. Lehkonen has missed the Avalanche’s last two postseason contests, so his chances of playing here might be a bit limited.
Vegas Golden Knights Team News
The Golden Knights have listed Mark Stone (lower body) as day-to-day, but the star forward isn’t expected to be available for Game 1 and doesn’t have a clear timetable to return. Stone’s absence would be a major blow given his experience and scoring ability in a top-six role.
They’re also missing Jeremy Lauzon (upper body) and Alex Pietrangelo (hip) due to injuries. Neither is expected to be available for this game, and there’s growing belief that both could miss the remainder of the series.
