New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs Moneyline Prediction

The Spurs had to work extremely hard to get past reigning NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2026 Western Conference Finals.

They ultimately got the job done with a Game 7 victory at Paycom Center, booking their first NBA Finals appearance since the 2013-14 season, when they defeated the Miami Heat led by LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

The Knicks had an easier path, sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Semifinals and Finals, respectively.

They’ve been the hottest team in the NBA in the playoffs and enter this opener riding an 11-game winning streak. Their last loss came against the Atlanta Hawks on April 23.

Since that defeat, the Knicks have won 10 of their 11 straight victories by double digits and reached the 130-point mark four times. But they have yet to face a side with the defensive intensity of the Spurs. Nor have they encountered an interior presence like Victor Wembanyama, who was an absolute difference-maker defensively against the Thunder. New York will have to adjust their offensive strategy to succeed.

This is a classic case of rest vs rust, with the Spurs coming off an exhausting series and the Knicks not playing since May 25. But at the end of the day, San Antonio have the edge of playing at home and having a defence that suffocates opponents.

New York won two of the three meetings between the teams during the regular season and the NBA Cup, but the Spurs should feed off their recent win over OKC to keep it rolling and win Game 1.

The Knicks could be without Mitchell Robinson (finger), and Karl-Anthony Towns isn’t known for being a defensive stud. Essentially, this means Wembanyama should be able to dominate the paint and stretch the defence at will.

The Frenchman had a strong series against the Thunder, averaging 27.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.7 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game.

With a clear advantage in this matchup, expect the Spurs to look for Wembanyama early and often. If the Frenchman gets it going offensively, he should be in line for another big performance in his first-ever Finals appearance.

Even though he’s averaging “only” 23.6 points per game in the playoffs, the favourable matchup here should allow Wembanyama to boost that number significantly.

New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs Same Game Parlay

Our three-leg parlay begins with Keldon Johnson hitting at least one three-pointer. He’s shooting just 36% from beyond the arc in the playoffs, but he drained at least one three-pointer in six of the seven games against the Thunder.

Stephon Castle is considered one of the best rebounding guards in the NBA, so the line of 4.5 rebounds is well within his reach. He’s grabbed at least four rebounds in 12 of his last 13 playoff outings and is averaging a solid 4.9 boards per appearance in the current postseason.

The final leg backs Karl-Anthony Towns to put up another excellent passing display. The big man is averaging 5.9 assists per game in the playoffs and has delivered at least five in nine of his last 11 contests.

New York Knicks Team News

The Knicks will wait until the very last minute to see whether Robinson will be available, as the big man suffered a finger injury after the Eastern Conference Finals. He underwent surgery and is carrying a questionable tag, so a final call on his status should be made closer to 8:30 PM EDT.

San Antonio Spurs Team News

As was the case in the closing games of the Western Conference Finals against the Thunder, the Spurs aren’t reporting any injuries and should be at full strength for this contest. Their rotation should remain unchanged, with De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle starting in the backcourt and Dylan Harper coming off the bench alongside Keldon Johnson.
