Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets Main Match Info

Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets Moneyline Prediction

The Raptors have been inconsistent of late, but they’re showing signs of turning things around. They secured a 107-106 win over the Orlando Magic on Monday, marking their second victory in a row.

Toronto had lost three of their previous four outings before this mini-streak. Those wins shouldn’t be taken for granted, as they’ve come without two key players in RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl.

The Nuggets have been slumping lately. They suffered a third defeat over their last four contests in a 147-123 blowout loss to the Miami Heat on Monday. That result should be taken with a grain of salt, though.

Denver lost star centre Nikola Jokic midway through the encounter, leaving them without four of their regular five starters due to several injuries. It’s impossible to compete in today’s NBA while being so shorthanded.

Toronto have the advantage of playing at home, where they’ve won two games in a row, and should be considered favourites to make it three.

On the other hand, the Nuggets will continue their road trip through the Eastern Conference with a third straight away fixture while missing most of their regular starters. It’s hard to see Denver competing without Jokic, so the Raptors should come out on top here.

Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets Player Prop

The Nuggets will be extremely shorthanded. If Jokic misses out on this matchup, they’ll be without four of their five regular starters.

That should translate into Jamal Murray having to shoulder the offensive load for a Denver team that wouldn’t have any other reliable go-to scoring weapons outside of their star point guard.

Murray is used to having to deliver big games for the Nuggets from time to time. He’s coming off a 20-point, 11-assist performance in Monday’s loss to the Heat.

Murray has reached the 25-point mark in 13 different outings this season, and with a sizable uptick in his usage rate, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him do so again Wednesday.

Toronto Raptors vs Denver Nuggets Same Game Parlay

Our three-leg parlay leans toward the under on total points, largely due to the number of absences on both sides.

The Nuggets could be without as many as four of their regular five starters, but the fact that the Raptors will be without RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl can’t be overlooked, either.

We’re complementing the under on points with two player props involving point guards. Murray could easily hit the over on the market of 25.5 points, as he’s done that in 12 different outings already and is averaging 27.5 points per game in December.

As for Shead, the promising floor general is averaging 5.5 assists this month and has handed out five or more dimes in five of his last nine appearances.

Toronto Raptors Team News

The Raptors could receive a huge boost with the return of RJ Barrett, who’s listed as probable while recovering from a knee injury. However, they remain shorthanded in the frontcourt due to the absence of Jakob Poeltl, who has been nursing a back injury for quite some time. Poeltl’s absence means Sandro Mamukelashvili and Mo Bamba will handle most of the minutes at centre.

Denver Nuggets Team News

The Nuggets have been dealing with a significant injury crisis throughout the season, but no injury is bigger than the one Nikola Jokic sustained on Monday against the Miami Heat.

The star centre had to leave the game and didn’t return, so it’s fair to consider him questionable to play on Wednesday, although there will be more clarity once the injury report is revealed on Tuesday.

Jokic isn’t the only Denver player who’s dealing with an injury. They’re already down three starters in Christian Braun (ankle), Aaron Gordon (hamstring), and Cameron Johnson (knee), and none is expected back before the early days of January. Tamar Bates (foot) is also out due to a foot injury and is likely to miss the rest of the regular season.
