Donnarumma is expected to make his City debut in the upcoming derby, but Guardiola will be without Mateo Kovacic and Cherki due to injury. Omar Marmoush is doubtful after sustaining a knee injury with Egypt during the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Amid Man United’s struggles, it’s clear their main issues lie on the defensive end. They’ve yet to keep a clean sheet in four competitive matches in 2025-26 despite outplaying their rivals in xG (6.77 to 4.12) across three EPL contests.
As if things weren’t complicated enough for Man Utd, two of their top summer signings aren’t expected to start. Matheus Cunha is working his way back from a hamstring injury and isn’t likely to be fit, while Benjamin Sesko has yet to score for the Red Devils and might be dropped in favour of Joshua Zirkzee. Their new goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, is set to make his debut.
