The Etihad Stadium outfit have one of the deepest squads in the competition, and they should demonstrate that as they open the 2025-26 season with a few injury concerns.
Phil Foden will be a game-time call with a knock, while Rodri and Mateo Kovacic aren’t expected to be available in midfield. Claudio Echeverri could leave the club before the end of the transfer market. Despite some of those absences, City should field a very strong XI in this opener.
