Nashville Predators vs Toronto Maple Leafs Moneyline Prediction
- Moneyline Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs
- Odds: +110 (Tonybet)
The Maple Leafs haven’t had their best start to the season, dropping two of their first three regular-season games. They did secure a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Sept. 30, but that result came sandwiched between losses to the Montreal Canadiens (Sept. 29) and Ottawa Senators (Oct. 3). With just six goals scored in their first three outings, it’s clear where the issue lies for Toronto.
The Predators had a tough first week but managed to navigate it. They debuted with a 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild before bouncing back with a 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars in their last clash. That victory snapped a three-game losing streak dating back to the preseason, and their road struggles are still an issue – they went W17, L17, OT7 away from home in 2025-26.

The Maple Leafs are expected to send their veteran goaltender, Sergei Bobrovsky, while the Predators should counter with Juuse Saros. It’s hard to rely on Bobrovsky, as he’s winless in two starts this season with a 3.06 GAA and .887 save percentage, but he’s good enough to carry the team through stretches. Saros, on the other hand, has had a strong start to the season with a .933 save percentage through his first two starts.
The Maple Leafs have an underwhelming defence that needs to gel, and while the team have underperformed in the early days of the new campaign, playing at home should help them stay competitive. The Predators might have the edge between the posts, but crossing the border could take a toll on their fitness levels. As such, I’m backing Toronto to come out on top.
Nashville Predators vs Toronto Maple Leafs Player Prop
- Prop Bet: Auston Matthews to score anytime
- Odds: +125 (Tonybet)
If the Maple Leafs are going to secure the victory, expect Auston Matthews to play a significant role on offence. The veteran centre found the back of the net in the recent 3-2 loss to the Senators, a game in which Matthews could’ve scored at least two goals.

Matthews is looking to rebound from an injury-riddled 2025-26 season in which he scored just 27 goals and added 26 assists in 60 regular-season appearances. Having opened his 2026-27 season account, Matthews should be a major threat to a Nashville defence that has had back-to-back tough tests against the Wild and Stars.
Nashville Predators vs Toronto Maple Leafs Same Game Parlay
- SGP: Over 4.5 goals + Auston Matthews over 2.5 shots + Steven Stamkos over 2.5 shots
I’m backing a relatively low goal line for the first leg of our parlay, as it’d be surprising if this clash ended with under 4.5 goals based on the recent Toronto games. Two of the Maple Leafs’ three outings have produced five goals, whereas Nashville’s two have seen four or fewer. If the Canadian side take control, this line should hit.

For that to happen, the star-calibre players need to step up, and that’s why we’re also adding Matthews and Steven Stamkos to our three-leg parlay based on their shot totals. Early returns are promising, as Matthews has recorded 10 shots in his first three outings, while Stamkos has five. Both went over 2.5 shots in their most recent appearance.

Nashville Predators Team News
The Predators are close to full strength, with few injury concerns. The lone player with an injury designation is Annunen, who’s day-to-day with an undisclosed problem.

Tuesday’s morning skate should clarify whether the 26-year-old will be an option between the posts for this matchup. If Annunen isn’t available, expect Juuse Saros to remain the starter.
Toronto Maple Leafs Team News
The Maple Leafs aren’t as healthy as the Predators, with up to five players ruled out for this clash and none available to return any time soon. Even more concerning, the absences will be on both ends of the ice.
Toronto’s injury list is headlined by goaltender Elvis Merzlikins, who’s sidelined with a shoulder problem and set to miss most, if not all, of the 2026-27 NHL regular season. Forwards Dakota Joshua (abdomen) and Max Domi (back) are also out, with expected return windows in October and November, respectively. Cade Webber (elbow) and William Villeneuve (knee) are sidelined for multiple weeks.
