Edmonton Oilers vs Anaheim Ducks Moneyline Prediction

The Oilers had to work hard to claim Game 1 against the Ducks, ultimately requiring a third-period rally to secure the victory.

After Anaheim scored three unanswered goals in the second period, Edmonton responded with back-to-back goals in the third. The game-winner came at the 18:06 mark of the final frame, courtesy of Kasperi Kapanen.

The Ducks were nearly perfect defensively, yet the Oilers still found a way to win without needing a star-calibre performance from Connor McDavid. That doesn’t bode well for Anaheim’s chances here.

Moreover, the Ducks allowed the fourth-most goals in the regular season (288), so chances are they won’t be able to repeat the same level of defensive intensity in Game 2, especially on the road.

Anaheim also ranked 13th in goals scored during the regular season. While the Oilers’ Achilles heel all season long has been their goaltending, the Ducks would be unwise to engage in a shootout-style contest with them. Edmonton are the better team, have more individual talent, and also benefit from playing at home.

The Oilers’ sixth-ranked offence should eventually find a way to get the upper hand against a Ducks defence that ranked 29th in goals allowed during the regular season (3.51).

Surprisingly, Connor McDavid went pointless in the series opener, but that’s unlikely to happen again. The star playmaker recorded three shots and logged a team-high 24:50 of ice time among forwards in Game 1.

As long as he’s on the ice, he should have chances to make an impact on the scoresheet.

His track record against the Ducks also supports this pick. In 34 career encounters with them, he’s recorded 18 goals, 44 assists, and a plus-minus of +21.

While Anaheim managed to contain McDavid in Game 1, their defence is unlikely to replicate that heroic performance in Game 2, especially now that McDavid has an idea of how to deal with their defensive scheme.

Edmonton Oilers vs Anaheim Ducks Same Game Parlay

The opener of the series turned into a tight contest in which the Oilers narrowly came out on top, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Game 2 also produced a lot of goals.

Edmonton feature one of the best offences in the league, having scored 282 goals, the seventh-highest total in the regular season, while the Ducks ranked 10th with 273. On a per-game basis, the Oilers averaged 3.44 goals, compared with Anaheim’s 3.33.

The return of Leon Draisaitl changes everything for Edmonton’s offence, and the German playmaker made his presence felt in Game 1 with a pair of assists.

Don’t be surprised if he gets involved as a playmaker once again, especially since the Ducks’ defensive plan will probably be focused on trying to limit the influence of Connor McDavid, who went pointless in the series opener.

Our three-leg parlay also includes Kapanen making an offensive contribution, as the winger was a dominant scoring force in Game 1. He benefits from skating in a top-six role, often alongside Draisaitl and/or McDavid, which certainly boosts his chances of producing. Kapanen recorded two goals and seven shots in the series opener.

Edmonton Oilers Team News

The Oilers welcomed Draisaitl back into the lineup for the series opener and should be pretty much at full strength here. The only absentees are Max Jones, who isn’t expected back until May due to a lower-body injury, and Mattias Janmark, who’s out for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign with an undisclosed issue.

Anaheim Ducks Team News

The Ducks have a few injury concerns. Ross Johnston (lower body) is a game-time call. Jansen Harkins is out until the latter days of April with a hand injury but should return before the end of the series. Meanwhile, Petr Mrazek is sidelined for the rest of the season as he continues to recover from a hip problem.
