Vancouver Canucks vs St. Louis Blues Main Match Info

Vancouver Canucks vs St. Louis Blues Moneyline Prediction

The Canucks remain the NHL’s weakest team this season. While they’ve shown some signs of improvement lately, it won’t be enough to change their fortunes at this stage.

They’re coming off a 6-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and they’ve dropped four of their last six games, with each of those defeats coming in regulation.

The Blues haven’t played much better recently, as they’re coming off back-to-back road losses against two Canadian sides, the Jets (3-2 in regulation) and the Flames (2-1 after a shootout)

However, the Canucks are the ideal opponent for St. Louis if they are looking to turn things around. This will be the Blues’ fourth consecutive game against a Canada-based opponent, with a W1, L1, OT1 record over those three encounters.

While it’d be hard to trust St. Louis, considering the way they’ve played in their previous two losses against Winnipeg and Calgary, the matchup advantage here is simply too big to ignore.

The Canucks are the NHL’s worst defensive team by a wide margin (3.71 goals conceded per game), and their struggles at both ends of the ice should give the Blues, who rank 29th in goals scored per game (2.60), a chance to capitalise.

Vancouver Canucks vs St. Louis Blues Player Prop

Jimmy Snuggerud has been the Blues’ best player recently, leading the team in goals (three), assists (four), and points (seven) over the last five outings.

Snuggerud is riding a two-game point streak and has cracked the scoresheet in six of his last seven appearances, tallying 11 points (five goals, six helpers) over that span.

The winger ranks third among St. Louis players in points this season with 36, but his recent streak makes him a prime candidate to find the back of the net, potentially ahead of players like Robert Thomas (16 goals, 45 points) and Pavel Buchnevich (15 goals, 40 points).

Vancouver Canucks vs St. Louis Blues Same Game Parlay

Our three-leg parlay suggests this will be a low-scoring matchup. It only takes a quick look at both teams’ season-long numbers to see that this is a realistic outcome.

The Blues and Canucks both rank among the five lowest-scoring sides in the NHL, with 2.60 and 2.54 goals per game, respectively. That lack of firepower should be a key factor here.

Even in what’s expected to be a low-scoring affair, some of the star players should find a way to leave their mark. Rossi has been highly productive for the Canucks lately, recording nine points over his last five outings (three goals, six assists), and should carry the squad offensively.

The same goes for Snuggerud and the Blues. The winger ranks third on the team in points with 36. His recent hot streak suggests he can continue producing against the NHL’s worst-ranked defence (3.71 goals allowed per game).

Vancouver Canucks Team News

The Canucks could have Pierre-Olivier Joseph (upper body) back in the mix, but a late call will be made regarding his availability. The rest of the absences are long-term. Derek Forbort (undisclosed) won’t return until mid-April at the earliest, while Filip Chytil (face) is also targeting a return in April.

Thatcher Demko (hip) and Jonathan Lekkerimaki (shoulder) are both out for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

St. Louis Blues Team News

The Blues are close to full strength and have few injury concerns. Tyler Tucker is dealing with a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day, so a decision on his status will be made closer to Saturday’s 7 PM ET puck drop.

They’re also without Torey Krug (ankle), but the 34-year-old veteran has already been ruled out for the rest of the 2025-26 campaign.
