There’s nothing quite like bringing the magic of Vegas back to your own home – especially if you’re unable to get out and explore casinos for yourself! You can experience the vegas-buzz through Tonybet’s online casino page. But, if you’re taking a break from online casino games, we’ve gathered the best top tips for your upcoming casino party!
Casino parties can add a touch of luxury and glamour to any gathering. We’ve all seen those lavish scenes on TV and in movies where people sip sparkling wine and roll a dice or two. James Bond, for example, is a prime culprit in making the casino aesthetic so popular!
Here are some great ideas on how to design a casino night that people will remember for all the right reasons.
Casino-Themed Decor
Naturally, the best themed parties rely on some great decorations – and you don’t have to invest in high-end games and fittings to transform your lounge or dining room!
Creating the ambience of a casino at home requires a few delicate touches. Here are some ideas I’ve tried in the past.
Top Tips
Go for the full VIP look – one that wouldn’t look out of place in the Roaring Twenties! Roll out your own red carpet, set up some fine glassware, and even add a few art deco touches to fixtures and fittings. Turn the lights down low and add a soft, jazzy soundtrack.
Alternatively, opt for fun, eye-catching decorations. What about some giant dice or chips? You could either buy some decorations online or print out your own and hang them around your entertaining room. If you want to go all out, you could lay down checkerboard flooring or hang neon signs!
Finally, think carefully about colours. Casinos are full of greens, browns, golds and reds – and there’s also a delicate balance between black and white.
Here’s a bonus tip – make sure that your casino party invitations match the aesthetic you’re aiming for! Use lots of casino colours, and adorn them with chips and dice – or, use art deco fonts and stylisation.
Fun and Games
Naturally, anyone attending a casino-themed party is going to expect some games, so don’t disappoint them!
I’m not saying that you should install full-size casino tables, of course! There are a few different games you can set up and host throughout your evening, and if your space is big enough, you could have two or three tables running at once. If possible, you could have a few people to hand who are willing to help deal!
Top Tips
Consider card games, first of all! These are easy to set up, and all you really need is a few card decks, a tablecloth for the game you want to play (easy to find online), and – well – a table! Card games you can host at your casino party might include classic blackjack or baccarat, or you could even have a dedicated poker table to one side.
Tabletop games are great for adding a little more action to your casino party. Bringing in a full roulette wheel or range of slot games is going to mean quite a lot of work and expense. Therefore, try looking for tabletop versions of these games. You can find affordable party versions of roulette wheels and slots online, and in some cases, you might be able to rent them for an evening!
Don’t just focus on the games! If you’re going for a true 1920s jazz club atmosphere, consider asking someone you know who’s musical to put on a show. Or, you could host a quick bingo game or two!
Food and Drinks
Of course, no party is complete without some form of refreshment, and a casino party is no exception! Here are some food and drink ideas I’ve used for casino gatherings in the past that have gone down swimmingly
Top Tips
Casino cocktails and mocktails are a must! If you’re going full 007, you should, of course, serve the traditional martini, shaken, not stirred – a Vesper Martini, if you want to get technical! Do also consider classic whiskey on the rocks – arrange some popular spirits and dress up as a classy casino bartender to complete the look.
In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a buffet at a casino party. This isn’t the type of occasion where your guests are likely to sit down for a full meal, so make sure that they have plates available and can help themselves to sandwiches, snacks and cold cuts as they wish. You might even want to look up a recipe or two and serve up some casino-themed desserts – such as miniature cakes or macarons designed to look like chips!
Above all, a casino is a luxury resort – meaning that you should put in some time and effort into creating high-class treats. If you don’t have much time to spend creating your own snacks and appetisers, head to your local supermarket and look at their high-end party snacks line. These won’t be custom snacks, but at the same time, luxury nibbles will certainly fit the theme, the atmosphere and, most importantly, guests’ expectations.
A top tip for any party, of course, is to make sure that you know your guests’ dietary requirements before you start planning your spread.
Are there any guests who are gluten or lactose intolerant, for example? What about those attending who might be vegan or vegetarian?
It’s always important to cater for these needs so that everyone can relax and get into the casino spirit! In the past, I’ve asked for these details in the invites so that people can let me know directly what I’m planning for, and so that there’s no chance of miscommunication.
Get ready to party!
All in all, creating your own casino-themed party is a blast – and with a few creative touches, you’ll find it easy to bring the spectacle of Vegas to your home, regardless of where you are in the world.
